Hey Bastm35 I am not sure how long you have had your truck, sounds like not long at all, there is a section on this site where you have full FREE access to the technical manuals for this truck it has all the answers for questions such as yours. I would strongly suggest you take a look at these...
Asian sounds like you got a decent starting point, I wouldnt be so hasty to discard the original wheels on the Deuce, lots of tire shops still work on them and they are strong and reliable. Singles are great depending on what your doing with your truck but obviously they make a spare extremely...
Boy there almost has to be some type of device between your crank and the engine to actually be able to hand crank it isnt there? I have a 225 hp Yamaha outboard, very low compression compared to a diesel and it would take 2 stout guys to pull that engine over, a 12 cylinder diesel, I sure have...
Thanks much m819 this morning I took it off and found that 2 of the 3 retaining bolts (very small) that go in the end to retain that to the rest of the body were out, I found one of them laying down by the supercharger and made another one they 8-32 threads. This cap has been loose for awhile...
Your going to see this attached to another post sorry about that it was my mistake!!
Here is the reason I am asking for thoughts! I replaced the thermostats on my 88 M977 and all the cooling lines and all went well replaced all the hoses since I was in that deep also. Well everything is done...

Hey guys I just replaced the thermostats on my M977 and all the hoses on the cooling system while I had everything torn down, today got everything back together fired the engine up and let it warm up and all while dumping coolant into the radiator, and checking for...
Hello Folks I am just getting ready to finish up installing all new cooling lines and the thermostats on my HEMTT its a 88 M-977 with an 8V92 Detroit and while working on this I thought about the cooling fan and tried to move it, meaning I tried to turn it and it would not turn. Well my next...
Hey folks Karl Kostman here and I just wanted to say and let everybody on the site know how lucky I was to have the opportunity to assist Dan and his family get this rather eventful journey underway, (I hope they forgive me someday) and to let our site know that its folks exactly like Dan and...
When I got my first Deuce (it had a C turbo) and it sounded so COOL! I drove the truck almost 200 miles home and about halfway I had had ENOUGH of that turbo noise, I found out a little goes a LONG ways!

Hey guys I have a question for you, I have used the TMs on our site a few times but always buy a complete set from Patrick for what ever truck I need them for, well I have an M977 I am working on right now and I just ordered the Maintenance manuals from Patrick this morning, since we dont have...
Dan I cannot tell you how incredibly relieved I was when I got your text today that the truck was running and Mary Alice was in the pilots seat and you were headed down the road. I loved working maintenance on your truck Dan that is as nice as nice a truck as I have ever seen surplussed, pretty...
Congrats on the new Deuce, its good you already got 200 miles under your belt with the truck, I dont know your level of knowledge with these trucks but I guarantee its going to go UP! One thing I recommend to all the folks who get trucks on this site is we have an area on the site that is...
I dont know the model but look at the woman in the van behind the truck, she looks like she has been sitting there for 30 minutes waiting for this idiot to move out of HER way! CLASSIC!!!!!
The sagest advice I will give you is "DO NOT TRY TO SCRIMP BY AND BUY A TRUCK THAT NEEDS WORK"!! Everybody thinks they can buy a 3K truck and fix it up, all it needs is and let the list begin. I did this and now I own one of the most beautiful deuces in the land and could not even come close...
Thanks very much guys for the leads on the thermostat and gasket I got them ordered today, and guess what your suggestions had them in stock! I have another parts source questions for you I want to replace the upper and lower radiator hoses on the HEMTT while I have everything drained down and...
Hello folks I want to go through and drain and fluch the cooling system on my 88 M977 with an 8V92 in it, at the same time I would like to replace the thermostat and gasket. Where do you suggest going to where they would have these parts available? I have found places that claim they carry...
ND made it pretty easy a few years ago, your ATV/SUV has to have an onroad type tire, some form of rear view mirror and it has to be licensed in the state. Pretty darned basic stuff and its legal to run on any and all roads in the state.

Coffey1 the 1078 turned out extremely nice looking, that is a darned fine looking truck! I have a question for you concerning your HEMTT in the background, that truck also looks mighty spanky and the paint looks beautiful, did you paint that truck also? The reason I am asking is I picked up an...
