Come up to Denton Town on Oct. 16 to meet up with the local MV owners and Vietnam Vets 920 in the UNT Home Coming Parade. You will meet a lot of nice people, plus me, and learn everything you might want to know about deuces, more or less.
OK, no lights. Start with the easy stuff. cranetruck has posted so much on the electric system just checking out his many posts will give you an education. Grounds are where you begin.
Get an ohm meter, turn the light switch on, and see if you have power in the light wires. You can...
This thread has gone places I cannot follow.:-) I normally just follow cranetruck's advice, which he translates into English for dummies, and keep the deuces running.
I have to disagree. I think it was more a lack of maintenance at the end of the deuce life span with the military. The relay was there for a purpose, it worked and could be bypassed either by necessity or sloth in maintenance.
I had a relay make me crazy until I figured out what was wrong...
Every time I see 'no lights' I come back to cranetruck's advice to check the grounds and connections. I do it at least once a month now.
Last week I noticed my right rear brake light was not working. I checked the bulb. Good to go. I got out the ohm meter and began at the light connection...
I just looked back and realized I have had the jatonka spin on oil filters since at least January 2007 on my first deuce. They have been absolutely flawless. Perfect. Easy to install, no leaks, no problems and immediate oil pressure.
I liked them so much I put on the spin on fuel filters...
Spin on filters modernize the deuce. I have all of the jatonka filter adapters, oil, fuel primary and secondary on my trucks. I could not be happier. Instant oil pressure and no RUST in the fuel lines!
I would not change oil again without putting them on. It is a world of difference.
We had twelve vehicles in today's parade. Three years ago it was only four. If you are in the area, come join us.
Our next big event is the UNT Homecoming Parade on October 15, 2010, at 1 pm. We would like to get about 20 vehicles in that parade. It is a long parade over several miles of...
If you are in the area of Denton, Texas, you are invited to join with Vietnam Veterans #920 in the annual North Texas Fair Parade on Saturday morning.
Line up begins at 8:30 am at Denton High School, parade at 10 am.
If you are a veteran and just want to ride and meet other vets, come also.
I have really liked the spin on filters.
Every time I looked at the fuel filter cans they had more rust, even after being completely cleaned. Using the spin on fuel filters eliminated the need to clean the cans completely.
The oil filters give instant pressure on starting. I like that much...
I have had the jatonka spin on filters, oil and fuel for two, or perhaps three, years now. I am glad to see Westfolk join in with an additional supply.
I think these are the most innovative things we can do to the multi-fuel engine to both preserve them and to extract the maximum performance...
The fourth of July parade in Denton, Texas, will be held on July 3, preperation beginning around 8am in the parking lot of Wells Fargo Bank on the corner of Hickory and Locust.
Bring your vehicle and friends to join with V V A 920 members in celebrating our independence.
I retrieved the old oil cooler from the junk pile and will test it this weekend for a leak. After the removal and replacement, I kind of think the fault probably was in the o-rings. But, I am curious and will try the hot water idea out just for fun.:D
