Changed out the oil cooler. Simple task. Drain the antifreeze, no oil in it, move the secondary fuel filters out of the way, three nuts to remove, and disconnect the last three injectors lines at the cylinder head and bend the lines just enough for clearance. Took an hour or so.
There are...
I am coming up on three years with the spin oil filters from jatonka. I cannot imagine not having them on the deuce. Really.
The spin on fuel filters are beginning the second year. NO MORE RUSTY CANS!
Thanks again John.
You have the short air pack. The long air pack rebuild kit does not work.
Check the TM for the proper hook up on the air packs. I think it should be on the MC rather than the location you show.
Last year I got a deuce w/w for less than $1200 in OKC. Ran very well, good batteries, hard top and new cargo cover. It had a headlight missing and the driver's front fender was bent down in the front.
I got a headlight, bought a ram from Northern Tool, some paint from RAPCO and fixed it in...
I had probably 25 made in the past two years. They cost about $110 to have built and about $40 to ship.
I have an original, no rivet holes, in the garage. I also have a M66 ring mounted on a deuce now and have so for about three years, without the plate. No damage discernible at this time...
The bolts from the steering box have all got to be removed. One is extremely difficult to reach and remove. I used an engine crane to lift the motor an inch or so for the clearance. Once the box cover is removed the gear can be removed. You should get the MV Magazine article by NickD on...
Ultimately, I had to remove the front motor mounts and loosen the rear in order to use a crane to lift the engine an inch or so out of the way. I took the box apart in the truck and removed it piece at a time. After putting in new bushings, I reassembled the gear and steering column in...
A couple of pics from the parade on Saturday.
The pic of the line up shows the three deuce and a half trucks we deployed, the cargo cover was not removed from the second deuce at that point. All three were filled to capacity with Vietnam Vets and MOH recipients. The rear deuce and a half...
I am starting with the oil cooler. A new one from Memphis is on the way. I will order a gasket set from TNJ Murray if that does not cure the problem.
We had a similar problem last year on a M113 and the oil radiator was cracked. That required removing the engine and a complete dismantle...
I changed the oil today. It appeared some anti freeze is in the oil. The radiator also seems pressurized without it having been started in a couple of weeks. Not a lot of pressure just some.
Head gasket?
We have something like 23 vehicles committed to the parade and convoy from Denton to Gainesville on Saturday morning. We will be joined by the local National Guard.
