I think the german designs were more 3/4 tracked and because of the extra track area they dispensed with the drive for the front axle. They did have to make it more complex so as to handle steering in soft terrain, hence the track steering capability too.
See if you can attach the breaching tool to the front towing lugs to make it a quick removal setup. You could also go with a set of specialist kit for bomb disposal as well as other uses.
Think about a universal attachment system, like a 3 point system on tractors but like they used on...
Hey WG, might I suggest a few other things to think about?
A HAM Radio Rig for working with civilians that are helping out during a disaster.
Stowage straps for things that Police are always adding and stowing
Additional lights for inside illumination
A Mount for a Toughbook or other Police...
There's some folks out in Carrolton Ga that are restoring several M114 Cav Scout APCs. I've made a contact and gotten an invite out. How many guys would like to go out there to look and see the armor?

Anyone want to go?

The armored car is about 3.5 tons. Truck and trailer is 26,000 lbs (13 tons) give or take. I didn't hit a scale this time. The trailer and some of the cargo last time was probably 2.5 tons.
Ok, I made it to FIG on Wednesday. I averaged 45.7 mph, but that includes slowly churning around truck stops for fuel and such. I headed out of Atlanta around Noon Tuesday, hit the Quicktrip for a top off of the tanks at $2.18/gallon and headed north up I85. The truck was a bit sluggish but...
The FV series vehicles from the 50s are all pretty complex and Very capable for their size and weight. If they're taken care of they're quite reliable. Leave the servicing off or abuse them badly and they show it all over the place. I've had nary a problem with my wiring on my ferret. If you...
