So I got it all assembled and started doing leak tests. The valve from Memphis needs new o-rings. It's a used valve, makes sense. However the flare fittings I put together, half of them are leaking blast it. Anyone have any advice on these fittings? Perhaps I over torqued them on assembly? How...
RE: Re: RE: some pics from the show..
Reading's airshow doesn't have any issues with scads of re-enactors walking around the airfield armed. I'd love to see a terrorist event. You'd see so many people fixing bayonets and charging the terrorists or running them down with jeeps and halftracks.
Actually, I'll point out that in WWII, canada had the 2nd largest airforce and the 3rd largest navy in the Allies. Canada has had a liberal government for a long time, but it looks like that's been shaken off.
From Tanknet
Canada has an election - we dump the Liberals - Now have a Gov't to be...
I've been past a place in WV that was rebuilding Bradleys. They had complete ones and disassembled hulls out on their yard. Wonder if this is the same place.
I've sealed all the holes with silicone gasket maker. I'll let it cycle a few times then see what it looks like inside in a few days. We're getting fronts through here constantly that are hot, cold and then hot again with lots of changes in humidity and pressure.
Ok, wiring is all done and neatened up. I even wrapped the wiring at the tank on the right with friction tape and electrical tape over the top of that.

go with 1100s until you can find and afford the 1100x20 radials. I have single 1100s now and the ride is better and handling tighter in parking lots. Less scrubbing too. We'll see how milage goes for my next trip to PA.
One other aspect is that radials don't have as...
Re: RE: Well...
Actually, you can do this with singles too. Add a spare wheel to a singled wheel station and you have a ready made capstan winch. There's space to bolt up a wheel too for temporary use.
Nope, I know that my bearings were wider. Both sets. Same width. They were NOT sized differently width wise. Yes, the inner race was not the same because the spindle is different widths. Could there be two specs for bearings? One has a narrower bearing and the other spec has mostly identical...
Oh, Granted, the 5.1 is made to be compatible with 3 and 4 because as I understood it a conversion from 3 or 4 to 5 required a complete system flush because the glycol based fluids aren't so compatible with the silicone based DOT 5.
For our MV's the best thing to go with is Silicone based DOT5.
DOT 5 was desirable for motorcycle racers because it doesn't get water in it and doesn't have the same range for boiling when brakes are hot from use. BUT it's more expensive and harder to get. DOT5.1 was made to have the compatibility with 3 and 4 (glycol based) but have the characteristics...
I bought a 24 volt, 10 amp relay from a local industrial electronics supply house. They also had a nice aluminum project box that I mounted the base in that allows for those contacts to be safely sealed from the elements. I tried testing it last night then got nothing when I threw the switch. I...
Ok, I've installed the relay box and relay plus switch and finished all the wiring for the fuel system. Now the left side pump runs when I hit the switch and the right side stops. I'll post pictures tomorrow.
