Replaced a leaking core plug (AKA expansion plug, freeze plug, etc). I wanted bronze they had steel, I used it. Napa #epc41. Also, the '09 got an oil service, a fuel filter change and a new air filter. [thumbzup]
I've used 7/16-14 bolts in place of item #1 in the diagram.
Why standard measurements on M1010 alternator bolts vs metric on the other CUCV variants, beats me. :cookoo:
Can't help with what you should do.
I can say that the wiring on my wiper control plug is connected as shown in the diagrams and works as intended.
2nd picture in this thread shows the plug coming from the column.
