Congratulations! Looks like a great project. I looked at the truck on ebay, but it being in California made it impractical. There is one sitting in the storage lot at the National Guard Armory in West Orange, NJ - I'm assuming that it will eventually be sold off unless some agency decides that...
Sounds great! So far it will be me and my CUCV. Not sure how many days I can squeeze - I know that NJ DOT has me scheduled for a mandatory 12 hour fun day dealing with morons (aka motorists) on Monday the 8th. I'll probably be there on Saturday and Sunday to relax and get ready for Monday. :)...
And I left out the VRC-12 "power cable" nomenclature, which is listed in the -20: CX-4720 - one end connects to the battery (or 24 volt power bracket) and the other to the radio mount.

I uploaded TM's for two versions:
TM 11-5915-223-12, for the MX-7777A/GRC (which is called the MX-7778/GRC when installed with the mount, cables, etc.). It does not have a battle override switch, and the two output connections are on the same side.
TM 11-5915-224-14, for the...
If anyone in the group is interested I also have the following available in .pdf:
TM 11-5915-223-12-HR
TM 11-5915-223-24P
TM 11-5915-224-24P
Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll upload them (and hopefully the web folk will have that problem of opening documents solved by then)
Check Technical Manuals under Resources. I'm uploading the following:
TM 11-5915-223-12, Operator & Organizational Maintenance, MX-7778/GRC
TM 11-5915-224-14, Opeartor & Organizational Maintenance, MX-7778A/GRC
I also have the other manuals for this equipment if anyone is interested in having...
I have both of those manuals in hardcopy, and they show up on occasion. I have not found them in .pdf yet. I just uploaded the following:
TM 11-5820-401-20-1, Organizational Maintenance
TM 11-5820-401-10-1-HR, Hand Receipt Manual
TB 1105820-890-20-77, Installation Instructions for SINCGARS...
Interesting information! When the bank account can handle it I'd like to get something armored (old tankers like stuff with thick skin). One of the alternatives to the joys of tracks, was one of the British wheeled vehicles that you have been talking about. How is the Ferret off road? I have no...
I uploaded the following manuals today:
TM 11-5820-401-20-1, Organizational Maintenance, VRC-12 radio series
TM 11-5820-401-10-1-HR, Handreceipt Manual, VRC-12 radio series
TB 11-5820-890-20-77, Installation Instructions for SINGCARS radios in CUCV
Once they are approved and available I think...
Instead of creating a new manual series for each vehicle installation of the VRC-12 radios, they continued to use TM 11-5820-401-10-1, -20, etc (for wheeled vehicles) which shows the radios in the M151 and the M880. Each vehicle had a unique radio installation kit which provided the mounts...
The Military Transport Association of New Jersey has a two day event at the Sussex County Fairgrounds, 37 Plains Road, Augusta (Sussex County) New Jersey. This is the 35th anniversary of the show and it should be a great one.

Nice to read another success story. Those inflatable shelters area very unique. Unfortunatley my M1009 won't handle a trailer that size and my yard has filled with my current military toys. Current spare dollars are going toward additional radio gear for the M1009. Hopefully this spring I can...
M37 is a great truck. I drove one for awhile in Vietnam - including a few beach landings - nothing like surfing with a truck and trailer! Looks like yours has lots of potential. Good luck with your project. There are lots of parts available if you shop around a bit - and who knows what some...
All it takes is some tender loving care ... and a touch of profanity, some skinned knuckles, more money than originally budgeted, .... and something nice for the little woman to bring harmony back to the home.
Looks good, enjoy!
Welcome aboard. These folks have lots of experience and I'm sure some of our members will be able to help or point you in the right direction. For now check the previous forums, look through the on line manuals, .... and ask questions. Enjoy! [thumbzup]
Glad to hear you made it safely. Getting sleepy near Tucumcari is not unusual - the town has that effect on many people. (I went to HS in Albuquerque, then off to adventures with the Marines).
Hope you enjoy your new toys, and next trip bring the "winter bag" (sleeping bag and pad, extra...
