with the 700r4 in OD at 70 mph it is like doing 55 mph with the turbo 400. I would say no more than 75 mph constant speed. I have done several of these swaps, if you have any questions post them or just pm me. Friend's truck: conversion from turbo 400/NP208 too a 700r4/NP205 This is one of them.
islandguydon Yes it is the 6.2, seems too run pretty good on the 50/50 blend. Ya patracy I really am reluctant to take this too far, have the wife almost convince to let me buy a 5 ton multi-fuel:drool:.
For those concerned about transporting waste any thing, gas, diesel, etc. as long as it is less than 1001 gallons it does not have to be placard, you don't have to have a straight bill of lading for it, and the driver does not need permits to haul it. This is federal DOT regulation, if you...
I just started to run WMO in one of my cucv's, I have about 80 gallons of wmo that I filtered through a 5 micron filter into on of the 250 gallon tank I have. My fuel tank was about half full of diesel fuel, yesterday I topped it of with the filtered WMO, so the mix should be about 50/50...
My dad worked on mostly gas and some diesel engines for 30yrs, he also went to school for it and you never fill the filter, that is what he was taught in school. When he started to teach me how to work on vehicles, that is how he trained me, So I don't fill the filter. In my opinion its your...
$74/5=14.80, not much higher than your paying, besides the wal-mart near me it was $18.50 a gallon and performance was 22.50 a gallon. Tractor supply is the cheapest I have been able to find so far.........near me.
Get it from tractor supply in the 5 gallon pale for Rotella 15w40, that seems to be the least expensive way. Just bought some for $74.00 for 5 gallons.
Thanks Dave for the parts, and yes I will give you a call on Sat. Also thanks to Maxxplanck and Dave for the info on the phone numbers, if it wasn't for you guys I would have had a very hard time getting a-hold of Tom. Maxxplanck, Tom said your on his #$!@ list........I don't know...
Just brought my trailer home from Lansing, MI. Put it on a car hauler and brought it home that way, then tested it out on the cucv when I got home, pulled really well!! Didn't find out till I got to GL location that it is a tilt bed, that is a nice benefit:mrgreen:!
Went and bought a "Haynes Techbook Diesel Engine Repair Manual"
It list in the diagnose section as follows:
Oil diluted:
Defective fuel supply pump=?
Defective injection pump=?
Broken or worn piston rings=might run poorly and start hard
Excessive fuel...
Bought the lift pump, but my fuel MPG seems to be up, filled up on Saterday and was getting 17.5 up from the 16 I was getting, I have driven 120 miles since then and fuel gauge is just barely below the full mark, think I might be in the 20 mpg now. No more extreme back pressure coming out of...
Thanks Dave, sometimes we need to just step away from the problem and ask a question or two, got me thinking it could also be the lift pump leaking. Dave do you now where I could get my injection pump rebuilt or should I just buy a new one if it is the seal?
It starts very easily so it probably isn't a bad injector or it would start hard and run poorly, like you said Dave maybe pump seal. Probably only way to find out is take front timing cover off?
I'm not sure how much is getting in there, normally the oil level drops slowly between oil changes, the truck sat for about 8 months while I rebuilt front axle. Once I started driving it again my fuel mileage went from 22 mpg down to 16mpg, the oil level started to rise and I could smell a...
