I've seen a few 1028's with the a/c compressor. and or the leece nevvile alternator. Mine has the two delco alternators like the 1008. Any body have any pics of this set up? And or a place to find these parts?
The manafold is cast iron. So a good quality drill and tap will work just fine. There is a rib in the middle of the manafold so be careful so you don't break the tools off in it. I strongly sudjest removing the turbo before drilling and tapping. To keep the chips out of it. Some have done it...
I can rebuild it for you. But it sounds like your going to need some parts. I have some used housings and wheels here. Or i can order new parts if you like.
I run air tools alot off of mine. I do pull the hand throttle to 1500 prm's though. I can bust the 6 lug nuts loose before the pressure drops too much. I have a elcheepo 3/4drive impact that does the job just fine.
If your pump isn't running. Open the bleeder on top of the two fuel filters on the engine. Then fire up the leaf blower and run it till raw fuel with no bubbles come out of the bleeder. Then close bleeder and start the truck. You may have to floor the throttle untill it runs smooth.
I see that there is one line in and one line out. Don't the orignals both go in and out. Or does the oil pass throught one filter and then through the other?
If you pump is blowing fuses, pull it out and clean the pick up screens. Some pumps have screws so you can pull the screans out and clean them. Others are rivited. Make sure you clean the impeller and voulute housing good with brake or carb cleaner. Every time i've seen one blow the fuse the...
