There is a oil fitting on the pass side of the engine. If you look above the starter you will see the 1/8 NPT connection where the original sending unit is.Install your guage there. What side of houston are you on? I'm on the north east side. If you like i could have a listen and see if it's...
Try this. Take at least a 10 guage wire. Stick it into the glow plug wire holder on the #2 cylinder. Then stick the other end on the pos side of the primary battery. Count to 7. The wire will get hot in your hand after counting to 7 pull the wire and turn the key to start. Do not wait for the...
I like your setup there 5ton. How much fuel does the burner use to heat the fuel for filtering?
I'm planning on making a solar heater for filtering my UMO. I got the idea from a solar water heater article i found. Since i don't filter oil every day it will have time to warm in the texas sun...
Get a heat gun and check it at the thermostat housing. Mine goes gets up to 180 and never gets above that. Even when it's a 100 deg here. Mabye your guage is reading a little off?
Went to the museum today. And saw old Desert Rats truck sittin there. And rembered he drove that thing all over this country! Even drove it to houston from howards in low range with a busted transfercase. And he drives it 56MPH every where. I know a multi's got to be tough if it can put up with...
Thanks bjorn. The compresor looks the same as the one on my LDS. I haven't seen one on a multi with the exaust gas casing like that.
My m35 has 53K in the ticker now. I got it with 13K. I change the oil every 2K or 6 months weather it needs it or not. I rarely run it over 2200 RPM's. I know...
I got some battery cables and ran from the body to the frame. And frame to engine. And engine to body. So far every thing seems to be working great. Thanks for your replies
DJ where in texas did you get that one? I have drivin and worked on my LT's for a few months now. It's slow but the ride ain't to bad. It's not too hard to work on. Although it has some tight places to put your hands. It will run about 65 flat out. It's a 85 model with a 3 speed auto so no OD...
I just painted the tires black when i was done. I know it sounds crazy but they stay shiney for weeks. When you get them dirty just hose them off and they look like they have armor all on them.
I have a frend at the museum who did just that. He took a winshield washer bottle and mounted it to the back of the cab wall. And ran the hose down to the MC. He just looks at the bottle and can easily see how much is there.
Bobtailing my M52a2 can hold 55 easy. Your much lighter than the 543 and he will probally hold u up. Dragging my m127 unloaded i can still get to 55MPH but it takes a while longer. There isn't any hills or mountans here, but if you have them they will slow the wreacker much more than you. And...
My brake booster failed about a month back. So i bought a rebuild kit and overhauled it again. It was about 5 or 6 years since i did it last. But after the rebuild it did the same thing. I had no boost about every 5th time i hit the pedal. My master cylinder was leaking also. So i got a new...
