I swapped the cab and engine on my 52 thanksgiving weekend. You'll need to take the fenders off. The cab holds them up at the back of the fenders. I had a frend with a 5ton wrecker to lift the cab on and off. I sure went a lot easier.

The only thing that bothers me about used ATF is it's usally very dirty. And what i mean by that is alot of auto tranny's have asbestos linings on the clutch plates. Have you ever done a valve clearence adjustment? If so were #5 and or #6 looser than the rest? I'd also do a compression test. Because my gut tells me the #5 or 6 piston could be wore and mabye "slapping" in the bore. Is there any way you could shoot a video and post it so mabye we could hear it?
