need some fast help. Towing it a lifted m1008 with the stock m1008

Chances are that the lifted truck has had the front axle rotated to help with front drive shaft angle which in turn reduces the caster setting and can cause the vehicle to wander. Add in the normal slop in the tow bar and it can seem like it has a mind of it's own. If he has a long way to go a...

    the new family beater

If it has been sitting with the old fuel you might need a couple fuel filter changes as the cleaner breaks loose the crud in the fuel tank and lines.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Sorry to hear that. If it is the one in your avatar that is a sweet looking truck. I finally got around to changing the belts and draining the fuel filters. Went for a 30 minute drive just for fun

Congratulations. Very nice looking truck. [thumbzup] Be sure to give the brakes a good going over. Its great to go cruising with the truck but always better to be able to stop when you need to.

New EPA Regulations On Large Truck Emissions

Never fear. It won't take long for them to re-write the regs on a federal level to make the rest of us surfs comply.

What a quaint and antiquated idea to most bureaucrats.

    Tach Drive lubrication

I have wondered that myself. I can't find mention of any lubrication for it. Looked in the LO, -20 and -34 manuals. I guess it must be considered factory lubricated and sealed.

    M747 destroyed by crooks

That's just plain wrong. There are people in this world that don't deserve to be here.

    M-1032e1

Great project... I have had 454's in several trucks and found them pretty durable and good towing engines, but they do love the high octane gas. Be aware if it is a TBI engine they can have a problem with leaning under load if the fuel system isn't in perfect operating condition.

    Brass knob

If you are referring to the item circled it is the oil sample port. They used it to take engine oil samples for testing to confirm if the oil needed to be changed.

    3-gauge panel

In my 85 civvy blazer I used the auto meter Pro Comp gauges and mounted them in the IP where the factory gauges where. I had 2 water temp gauges, one in each head. A volt gauge and oil pressure gauge. Looked ok but I think I would use these now. 2cents
