Wyo is correct, use a winch and a block, two blocks slow things down and you can get by with a smaller winch. If you are not in a big hurry, you can move a lot of weight with blocks and a 6,000 winch. Easier on the winch too. Everybody wants a huge number on the single line winch, using a couple...
Having a hard time finding the right video, I do not speak the language above. I think everybody understands the language the Cummins below is speaking. Glen
About 1.5 million Dodge pickups by now, some motor homes, buses, delivery trucks, generators, fork lifts, irrigation pumps, the engine is very versatile and extremely durable. Much better option for a deuce than any other non-original engine that I am aware of.
Good luck finding a tire tall enough to get you there. You would have a much nicer truck and a much easier swap using the Cummins 6BT. A huge power increase, not nearly as heavy and much more rpm. Good luck in your endeavors. Be sure to post up photos of your work in progress.
Break out your yard stick, a 400 is longer than you apparently think. You could do a nice crew cab conversion, move the firewall back, extend the steering column and sit in what should have been the back seat.
On tires rated for under 60 mph? On brakes that were designed for 45 mph? Just look through the recent A3 tire blow out threads and that is at normal speeds. I have no dreams or desires of running 80 in a deuce.
With a cable and three winch blocks, a half ton can pull it up ramps. I think most sites have loading docks nearby. See if there is a member nearby to help you out. I love recoveries....
Sorry, I missed this. The M109A3 trucks were multifuel and manual transmission. These M109A4 trucks are Caterpillars and automatics. They also have super singles and power steering. This batch was the cleanest group of trucks I ever saw listed. I wish I was part of the winning committee.
I...
That would almost be worth the price of airfare. I know the days of wandering around free out there are gone, thanks to some less than honest individuals. I can see it also if I made several previews and never bought anything. Between the two accounts, I do quite a bit of business with them...
That is tempting, but I would like to get along with those people. Guess it is a huge world out there and we can turn our time and interests elsewhere. I just do not get it, maybe it is just an employee who does not want to be out in the heat.
I sent in an email, they usually respond fairly quickly. No responses yet. Not trying to cause anybody and grief, but this is crazy. They have about 40 M820s coming up. They are rough, it would be nice to know what we are looking at, we are willing to bid more if we can sell parts. That is hard...
I have a friend with a 1970 Nova that he has spent over 130,000 dollars on and did almost all of the work himself. The nicest 1968 to 1972 Nova I ever saw. He does not have a prayer of recovering, thankfully, he is pretty secure. I think you can make money next week if you really wanted or...
They were exceptionally nice trucks, when I was at my buddy's looking at scrap, I pulled them up and showed them to him. He asked what they were going to bring and I told him I thought 7000 for a low and maybe 10,000 for a high. You could not buy a nice M109 and restore it to that condition for...
