This one has a picture window in the side of the block, looks like exit stage right. I assume a rod escaped. It still cranks over... Maybe it will run a little ways on five.
I found a nice M813 with a blown engine, Thursday may be my day. We have a newly rebuilt 250 in a crate from Riley, it may be the five ton forums I will be bugging next.
Good plan, now to seek out insurance.... Glen
They are really drying up fast, there was a time when they were releasing 50 to 100 a week. We really enjoy ours, good luck in your quest for a good one. Glen
My 1972 M35A2 just left, a new owner at the wheel. What a wonderful truck he got. I hope he treats it well and it does the same for him. She will be headed for Oklahoma, close to the Texas panhandle. Other than an alternator and axle seals, it was a trouble free truck. I just hope I can find one...
Have you tried pull starting it? Sometimes the higher rpm of being towed will get it to fire, especially if the compression is weak. Not very M-37 savvy, but I have worked on a few Continental flat heads. They could be very tough to start with low compression. It seems worse after sitting for...
I like the A2 trucks, simple enough for me to work on, most of the time without the aid of a manual. Our local Sheriff's Office has one with air assist steering and that is a really nice addition. Guess I grew up in the 1960's and when you heard a deuce, it was a screaming deuce, whistler squeal...
I am all for having more Kansas members. One of my deuces should be going through your country tomorrow. It is a 71 headed to the Oklahoma side of the Texas panhandle. Nice running, solid old truck. Smile as it goes by! Welcome to the site! Glen
USAFF-Cold Warrior... PM me your address and I will send you some shackles. Maybe not be vintage correct, but the bolster trailers we have are loaded with shackles and there seems to be no market for them. Ebay is just flooded, or was when I tried to sell a set. Glen
I remember seeing both of those trucks! I am almost sure of it... The sunglasses look familiar as well.... Glad she is headed home. Good luck my friends. Glen
Selling her whole was my message to him too, I think he is teasing us... We picked up a couple of rough looking deuces that may have new engines. I would like to save his if it is decent. Glen
You could be like some in the past have posted, it was too cheap so I bid and won. I did not even want it.... Then when you pick it up, it is the greatest ever and you are so happy you won it so cheaply...
Might still check with an attorney and see how bad she can hurt you....
I carry all the filters except air. I bought a heavy ballistic tool bag that sits on the outside of the floor under the passenger's seat. I also carry an identical bag with tools on the inside part of the floor under the passenger's seat. The filter bag has spare filters gaskets and belts. I...
