GL watchers... What are the M35A3s selling for?

One closed at $12k and the other was $17.5k! They were both pretty cherry. From the pics it looked like all the important bits were there and CTIS computers were even online. I know a lot of you deuce purists loath them, but if I had the cash I'd drive one in a heartbeat.

    Greeting from Denmark :-)

Re: RE: Re: RE: Greeting from Denmark :-) There was a group of T16's that came up for sale in the last year out in Arizona. They needed completely restored, but all of the important parts were there. They were listed for $8000.

    Greeting from Denmark :-)

RE: Re: RE: Greeting from Denmark :-) Hi Peter! Velkommen to the SS family. Your English is a lot better than my Danish! I have always liked the looks of a diesel FV432. Some of those are showing up at military vehicle importers here in the US, but the money and transportation issue kills...

    Making a 2,000 mile trip in a M35A2?

Ignoring all of the political, bureaucratic, red-tape type stuff for a minute, let's talk about your trip. I have no doubt that a properly prepared deuce could make that kind of trip and survive in Mexico no matter the conditions of the roads. The best thing you can do is take your time...

Help, my hose hangs down too low

The Cummins 5.9L Dodge trucks have these crank vapor hoses too. The later ones came with a canister to collect any drips. The problem was some folks didn't empty the canisters and they ended up spewing on the ground anyways. It would be easy to add a collection bottle to a deuce. I have...

    Pre & Post Pyro Placement

I always heard 200-300 degrees as well. Banks must have been using the turbo from my MB 300SD on a 7.3L Powerstroke to get those numbers :)

    M1009 tinted windows

Good thing the windows are tinted. Now nobody will break in to steal it ;) I had always planned to add the factory rear sliders to my M1009 top. The extra ventilation would have been nice since opening the rear window just filled the truck with dust and diesel smoke.

    GL paperwork for title

I titled a M1009 in WV that I purchased from GL. This was back in 2003. GL gave me an SF97 with the DRMO as the seller and GL as the buyer. I took that along with the BOS I printed off of the GL site. I had to go through around 4 or 5 DMV employees before they finally gave me a title for it...

    Pre & Post Pyro Placement

I installed EGT gauges on both of my Dodge Cummins trucks. I installed them pre-turbo in the rear passage of the split manifold. The first one I did with a greased bit/tap and then used a magnet to get any remaining shavings. The second one I did without the grease, just cutting oil. I...

    GL paperwork for title

There is a nice FAQ section on GL that will answer most if not all of your title questions. http://www.govliquidation.com/help/index.html

CUCV M1009 External spare tire mount

Make sure you add some reinforcing on the inside of the body where it mounts. I have seen some civi carriers rip right off the body after stress cracks got the best of the mounts.

Re: RE: Has anyone singled out a deuce with 5 ton axles?.... Mmmmmm, straight air brakes. I miss my 923A2.

    Sarge crashes his M1030

Dang Sarge! Glad you are OK buddy! That sounds like a nasty experience. All of my OTB experiences were off-road. One was on a KX80, then on a YZ80, then finally on a XR500. I don't brand discriminate when crashing. ForeverU, was that neck brace just a precaution or did you break something?

    XM818

Thanks Tim. I am looking forward to getting it home. Hopefully it just needs a few R&R projects and some fresh paint to be a reliable driver.

    beach ralley

Re: RE: beach ralley Ha, yeah, I missed that completely. I think we were talking about 9/07 at Aberdeen. That's what threw me ;) Good to see you back here Gilbert. I still think the beach rally is a cool idea! My son will be about 13 months next year so it will be much easier for me to...

    XM818

Yeah, it's a biggun. I would like to have one in the same style of the M172A1, but at 8' wide. I don't want to go civi though.
