RE: oops!
Hmm, I'll look into the issue Parker. Do you have a Junk Mail or Spam Filter on your email? If so, you may have to maually add SS to your approved list so that mail doesn't get bounced. Just a thought.
First I've heard of this issue Parker. There is no SS Browser, so I'm not sure what you are talking about there. The webmail function is up and working as I have tested it out on myself. By the way all caps makes it look like you are screaming your head off. If that was your intent, fine, if...
Very cool pics, literally! Thanks for sharing. I bet that can be some unforgiving territory up there in AK. Glacier wheeling is pretty amazing. I suprised the greenies aren't following you around in some kind of hybrid looking for oil drops on the ice :D
Have you considered an arctic kit...
RE: Re: RE: turbo vs non-turbo
I loved my NA deuce. My LD465 was a little slow in the hills, but I just rolled down the window and enjoyed the exhaust barking off the hillside :D I also like soot, and maybe inhaling unburnt hydrocarbons all these years has made me a little giddy. Seriously...
Beautiful Deuce, Jeff! I traded my desert tan CARC M35A2 and my pioneer tool trailer for the 404 Unimog that I recently sold. The mog was fun, but I still miss my deuce and tool trailer. It was nowhere near as nice as the one you just let go, but it had a lot of sentimental value. I hope to...
I am a Cummins guy through and through so one day I'll have an 800 or 900 series truck in my stable. I'm just the oppostie of Kenny I guess since I like the longer nose of the 800's.
Yep, when I shot my M1009 last year I used Xylene from NAPA I believe and thinned it 4:1. It went on smooth with no overlap marks. It was pretty cool when I shot it too. Also used a "cheap" pressure gun.
Don't have the capacities in front of me. I'm sure a 211 owner will chime in. Here's a site with a 24v external pump conversion kit if you decide to go back to 24v. Lots of other parts too. http://www.alfaheaven.com/Military%20Section/M135Mech.html
Engine should be nice and clean on the inside now. Might want to change the oil a couple of times to make sure you remove any sludge that has broken loose.
Lee, I looked at a bunch of deuce pics on the http://www.easternsurplus.net/ site and saw both w/w and wo/w trucks with the holes. Doesn't seem to be a pattern :?:
Hey Ian,
You might want to at least get a quote from Line-X. My brother got his long bed ford sprayed for $450. Your cab is a good bit smaller than 8 ft. so it may be more reasonable than you think.
I like the bare flatbed look. You could find one of those bomb hoist setups that were meant for the back of a deuce and bolt that on there. That could be very handy!
RE: Deuce Tranny, Things I
I can't get my dog to fetch tools yet. She's good with a stick or ball, but goes all to pieces when I open the tool box. She often lays down on my piece of carpet when I am working on it under the truck though, so she's good company!
Congrats!! I know that was a great feeling to have it roar to life for the first time. It's a good sign that no rods came through the block or anything. Did you get any pics of the smoke show? Maybe your neighbor will think someone gave his vehicle a wax job since the water should bead up...
