Congrats on your new arrival Josh! There are quite a few surplus companies out there that sell winch kits for the G-742 series of trucks. http://www.adelmans.com http://www.tnjmurray.com http://www.easternsurplus.net/spares1.html to name a few.
Ha, yeah right. I did spot this one while cruising by the Seabee base in Norfolk today and managed to snap a photo without wrecking. Pretty sweet new tractor! Anyone know what it is?
Subject title upgraded
Speaking of which, do you hold it to the floor when starting? If you read the starting procedure, it says to do so. That sets the high-idle solenoid. Check the cold advance and make sure it's getting juice when the ign is on and the engine is cold. There is a water temp switch on the right...
RE: Best rust solutions? Rustoleum, spray converter + paint
I like the rust convetors. Eastwood makes a couple of nice ones. Some are phosphoric acid based and will leave a black phosphate coating. Those have worked well for me as they are thin and will work into seams. You just need to...

Here's some pics! Great meeting you and your family, John. It was so nice to have the rain start pouring as soon as we got there to get it loaded. Almost as bad as when me and DR picked it up from Hammonds. I can't wait to see what y'all do with it. I do know it has gone on to a greener...
It was nice not to have to worry about glow plugs on at least one of my trucks! Unless it gets REAL cold in LA you shouldn't have to worry about the flame heater or ether. Mine always started in WV no matter the temp. I always cranked it a few times with the fuel off to get some oil moving...
Man that's tough Serp. Glad she's OK and it was only the car. I had to sell my Mog a while back to get my wife a car after her Escort's engine locked up. Like 5ton said, there are plenty out there so hopefully you'll have another one in the near future. It would be nice if a SS member got it...
