On my 1009 and 1028 the fuel heater circut on the box type filer was 12v..
it is my understanding that it intergrated into the glow plug circut.
it cycle on and off til the engine gets to around 80 degrees with the GP.
dude I would not go with 1028 spring they are brutal.. with that short wheel base you might as well weld the axle to the frame.. just my opinion
I doing this swap ( 10 bolt front and 12 rear out of 87 burb) I have the spring packs as well.
I am consider doing the old shackel flip with the 1009...
I remember in 92 at the old DCSC in columbus they 10 mules in legal hold status since the 60s crated up. I dont know what happen them they have since tore that Bldg down.. same bldg where the DRMO office was just couple of fire wall down.
I going to drop another motor into my 1009 this weekend..
The motor is gl 509 motor that been gone though, been honed out .75mm, head stud, gridel ect..
My question is about harmonic and the timing chain cover, is it the same?
No but it had some finky bypass off the pump it self and dual thermostate set up on it that swap back cucv style cause of the hoses.. but it too blew the passager head gasket..
I did the same with my 1009 same bus motor ect..what I am wandering if the pumbing was different a van verses the 80 D model truck I never look or verified just assume ...
The blue lines are motor oil the black ones are tranny oil note I have additional oil cooler for the tranny in stalled to compensate for lack of metal lines
yes I use the cascade if you doudt it look up on the net... I works alot better then the prestone stuff.. just flush really well after you drain the solution.
