    Air Force Gun Trucks

Crach_AF Wrote: It's been a long time --- over 40 years and old memories can play tricks on a man but it was during Tet of 68. The 25th Infantry had just came in from Bien Hoa with 40 pieces of armor to keep Tan Son Nhut from being overran. I mention this because there is a chance that the...

Should I Jump in or Walk away....

That's probably not a bad idea. I also think that a proportioning valve would be a good thing for all bobed deuces. I realize this is a bit off topic but while we are talking about proportioning valves I thought I'd bring it up.

I can see having a pinion brake as a brake of last resort. As a brake to use it all the time --- even with the regular brakes? --- NO. Hook it up to a hand valve on the steering column for an Oh Sh!% Brake? --- YES.

Should I Jump in or Walk away....

I've got a pinion brake on Rosie. After a scary encounter on snow-pack I installed a valve in the line so I could shut it off. A couple of years ago I towed my 18 foot trailer loaded down with a loaded down (packed full of parts) M37 to Midwest Military in Prior Like MN. I also had a lot...

wnat to turn up fuel pump alittle

I dropped out of high school in the 9th grade but later went on to work along side with and paid equal to PHDs. This wasn't because of superior intelligence on my behalf. It was becauses I woke up, went to work and learned how to write. Technically, I still have a 9th grade education. I too...

Blasphemy - My modded M416 Off Road Trailer

Andre --- Looks like a well thought out project. You shouldn't have to apologise to anyone for work like that! I wish I had one just like it. What color are you going to paint it?

wnat to turn up fuel pump alittle

I don't want to add fuel to the fire here but when people don't use proper capitalization it's hard to read. I'm getting to the point where I ignore anything that the author didn't at least make an attempt to properly capitalize. I don't kow that started this practice but purposely ignoring...

    WVO legal stuff

With the price of diesel fuel (trucking) what it is it doesn't surprise me that some renders are starting to charge for picking up grease. I've heard they have also starting to charge for picking up dead stock. One of the things that can come into play here is that the person you make an...

    WVO legal stuff

I've been wondering how long it would be before this situation would come to critical mass. After reading some of the posts on the LEGAL-Forums I see it's happening. I worked in the Rendering industry for over 30 years --- went to their conventions and made it a point to learn as much...

    Red-Line "RPM" Confusion

JasonS wrote: Thanks for the comments on the RPM. Being a retired GM engineer I'm sure he brings a lot to the knowledge table. My apprehension comes from the way I interpreted his response to being challenged about running the engine at 3,600 RPM. I'm not looking for performance...

    Red-Line "RPM" Confusion

Thanks for the torque info Bill W. I spoke with my old Buddy Bob Stahl at Veterans Vehicles as well as Vintage Power Wagons today to get their opinion on the max RPM for a T245, 230 CID Dodge. Bob Stahl concurred with not going over 2,500 RPM and Vintage Power Wagons said if you try to drive...

    Red-Line "RPM" Confusion

Bill W. write: Are you saying to add a harmonic balancer that it has to be balanced with the engine it is being installed on? I've wondered in the past if the reason we've been told to keep the RPM down to 2,500 was because the engine doesn't have a harmonic balancer? If they don't have...

    Engine temperature Turbo whistler

Lugging isn't good. Shift down so you are always above 1,600 RPM. Lugging causes all sorts of problems including blown head gaskets, high temps and even more serious problems. If you keep a multi between 1,600 and 2,400 they will last a long time. My water pump fan is removed therfore my...
