Well m16ty I am relatively new to the deuce, but one thing I have already done was pull a radiator on one. Its about
the easiest radiator pull I have ever done, the way the grill comes off, ect. Having said that I would take it in for repair,
pressure check and cleaning. 2cents
I have 2 1971 deuces and ran into the same question as you . I put Jeep Corp. for the manufacturer, however I havent got SF97'S yet so I cannot tell you that it is correct for sure. The SF-97's should be in this week judging by some of the others I have heard about lately.
Interesting thread to follow for me. I am heading to town right now to look for a mechanical gauge at Fleet Farm. I have 3 deuces and oil pressures are all over the board from 14-60 psi. If there is an easier way to plumb one in I am interested. Otherwise Just screw out the sending unit in the...
Thanks Dave. That doesnt sound too bad. Mine were sent in around the 5th of july so its possible to see action yet this month. I will also post an update. Dean
Welcome to the site. Thank you for your service to the country. I don't know the answer to this question "how friendly are the Central and South American countries when they see a deuce in camo come rolling up?" but I have a question of my own. Is hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, orienteering...
Sorry, I cannot get passed the the part that you think a drag link is a big limiting factor on your suspension travel of your RV. Look at most of these bobbers with big tires and other deuces and 5 tons with large tires and for that matter stock tires. They mud bog from time to time, trail ride...
I would guess the former owner meant that you should get in and drive it at least once a month, not at the most once a month. Like all vehicles, lack of use is probably as hard on them as anything. Gotta get them batteries shook up and charging, fuel moving through the lines, brake drums shined...
Well JCKnife as you can see on page 5 of your thread , I pulled my radiator a few days ago too so it was all fresh in the mind. We all make mistakes and that was not a biggy so glad to hear it took care of the problem. I was just out doing an oil change in my deuce for the first time. Couldnt...
Did you happen to sandwich those 2 springs between the deuce frame and the radiator? If so, they go on the bottom of the deuce frame. Just a couple of little rubber isolators are sandwiched in there. Just a wild guess, it would account for the approx 3/4" extra hieght, and the kinking new lower...
In addition to many of the improvements mentioned, I would want to throw in there a computer with sensors all over everywhere that made adjustments to the IP and injectors as needed to efficiently burn whatever you threw in there. Alot of guys probably would hate that but I am sure most modern...
