    No start frustrations.

Did you fill the spin on fuel filter to the top with fuel? Did you finally get all the air bled from the injectors? Did you "run" the engine on whatever "spray" you're using to re charge the batteries? You have to start from square one with fully charged batteries and bleed the system properly...

    Water injection in the 6.2?

I am not anywhere near as schooled as you guys are on the physics of this topic, but back in the late 70s a friend of mine owned a speed shop and sold these water injection setups. Needless to say, there were many unhappy customers with severely damaged engines as a result. It also did not...

    Looking to buy a CUCV

Wicked S10 bro! Is that a Typhoon setup? If you sold the 52 to a guy in the tri state area, I might have seen it. There's a guy running around here with one just like that. Your never too old to have cool toys. I sold my 1986 VFR 750 when I was 48, wish I still had it.

Yea man, you can find far better than that. You don't want any issues if your using it as a haul truck. It could ruin a good weekend at the track. BTW, Im not a Ford guy, but that is a sweet truck.[thumbzup]

And by judging by the pics, an impound fee or tetanus shot.

Hea ricksherryjosh1. Judging by the pics posted up by Smokinyoda, that truck is pure junk. Respectfully, if you don't posess better than average mechanical skills, you might be getting in a little over your head. That is a long term project truck for someone with advanced mechanical skills and a...

    Looking to buy a CUCV

Hea Marcus, I just suggested doing the job in the sellers drive to avoid any problems with local law inforcement. Parking lot repairs are not tolerated here due to insurance issues. I myself would also trailer it. The OP seems determined to drive it so watta ya gonna do? Who knows what else is...

    Looking to buy a CUCV

Don't know about a complete kit. Just tell the parts guy you want inner, outer bearings races and seals. You never stated what truck you have in your original thread, just as a CUCV. Doing both sides is a good idea. you might as well do a pad slap brake job as well. you will have all that apart...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Replaced all four bolts on the steering box. I heard one bolt snap last night, looked at it this morning to find the box was literally falling off the frame.

    Looking to buy a CUCV

If you have never done it before, it's not a one hour job, and I woulden't trust anyone working at Autozone with a press. I doubt they provide any shop services anyway. Basic tools are all you need along with a hub socket. A brass drift will remove and install the bearing races. cool the races...

Most tow dollys do not have the capacity to tow a 5200 LB truck. If you find one, disconnect the rear drive shaft on towed vehicle.

Hea MyAngry85, The two plugs you are referring to are for the cold advance and high idle solinoid. When you turn the ignition on, you should hear the cold start solinoid click. In warmer temps, it has little or no bearing on the engines ability to start. In cold weather, they both help make...

    No start frustrations.

If you did the spin on conversion, there should be no issue with the filter or base. You do however have to fill the filter to the top with fuel as it will not self prime like the old style stanadyne base as there is no bleeder on the spin on filter head. An electric fuel pump mounted close to...

    No start frustrations.

Your IP is losing prime. Check the fuel line from the tank to filter for any leaks. the line may also be porous, sucking air into the system. Lightly pressurize the fuel tank with a small compressor. It won't take much to push fuel through the lines to the fuel pump so don't over pressurize the...

    Flex plate/fly wheel

No problem, I've made mistakes when I tried to rush through a repair. you are not alone. To check for leaks, place a piece of cardboard under the converter, you will see any leaks easier that way. Of course if you see red, ya got a trans leak. If it's black, well it's a 6.2, LOL.

    Flex plate/fly wheel

Take a look at the flexplate with the engine running, if there is a wobble to it, both the flexplate and the starter bendix gear will wear prematurely. If there is any vibration above idle, you should replace it as it will take out the pump bearing and seal. Check the pump for leaks, as Doghead...
