My speedo bounces around too. Seems to be a common problem. I had a spare out of my parts rig. Put it in and that one bounced even more. Put the original back in and on one cold morning a couple of months ago it started making a huge racket when it got near freeway speed. Sounded like the gears...
I use mine as a daily driver. Mine is in drive as soon as the idle smooths out... about 5 seconds. I don't give it a heavy throttle for the 1st mile and my drive to work is short. I see people warm up their gas engines for 5 minutes or more too, so each his own.
I say get the M101a2. The hitch on my M1009 has pulled a car trailer with a m1008 on board. The problem wasn't with the hitch but the towing ability of the blazer especially the brakes. I think you can overload a M101 but if its a a2 with the surge brakes working well you should be fine. Stay...
Heres what I have a3 axle under a a2 box. The HMMWV tires stick out past the fenders and so do the CUCV wheels (M1008) and tires but not as much. I'm wondering if 16.5" dually wheels will fit over the drum. I have tried 16 in dually wheels and they don't fit over the drum. The dually wheel would...
I just sold a deuce, the guy that I sold it to didn't even open the hood. Just gave me the money and drove it about 200 miles home at night. It was a good runner, but the sale went so fast that I didn't think about tire changing tools or advise him about bringing his own. Having a flat in the...
When I bought my 79 ford new I said I'll never sell it and I am still loyal to it, but it is getting a 6bt engine transplant. I will not drive that 400 another mile even tho it has low miles. congrats on the m1031. I have one also that I want to get going.
Please help, I have searched and could not find the correct part number for the surge brake damper on a M101a2. Any manufacturer and the associated part number and I believe I could then cross reference it.
Thanks,
Greg
My dog hates anything to do with explosives as marked on the trailer. The 4th of July is a nightmare for him. Even a bubble gum pop makes him leave the room. Lighting a burning torch will cause him to head for the hills. He went missing 17 days last 4th.
I got this trailer awhile back because the sides drop as well as the tailgate. It was pointed out to me that it would be a good candidate for a dump trailer. Curious if anyone has ever seen another like it. It had explosive markings on every side.
I have a trailer where they cut the lunette and made a swivel, welded the ball mount on one end and the lunette ring on the other. I should take a picture of it. It it the only one I have ever seen. Not that I like it that way, I wish I had a whole lunette for it too. I heard they make...
Ok, I talked at length with a wheel tire expert and the 1100rx20 michelin will not fit a passenger tire /pickup rim. There is nowhere for the bead which is in excess of 1" to go inside the wheel. They can't be mounted. They are designed for a split ring wheel only. Marsh racing and stockton...
Possibly the dealer is afraid of a liability issue , I don't know. Those wheels at summit are expensive. Makes me think a custom painted steel wheel built to those specs might not be anymore expensive, but what wheels to start with? I'm interested in what sharecropper uses to build his. Thanks
Who makes a commercial light truck wheel 8 lug 20" that fits our CUCV's. Out here we have a tire dealer called Les Schwab. They are in just about every town with a population over 200, they are everywhere. They practically own the tire business out here. They ordered wheels for our michelin...
The govt doesn't make anything they sell through GL. It is just a way to dispose of it. Look at the SF97 it tells what GL paid for it. Using them as targets is sad from our point of view but is a practical use and could be saving the military money in a twisted sort of way, which is the way our...
Thats what I'm looking for. I'm surprised that I haven't seen that done before but with that price tag in 1985 dollars I may have answered my own question. I don't want to give up, I have the michelin tires. I'm hoping someone has found a solution that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I know of...
I'm surprised they go for so much. I thought about bidding on one out here but where to park it. It went very cheap in comparison, but had a cracked frame.
