It sounds like you just have to know which one of the 3 sizes is on your truck. I'm changing what I originally thought because I took a look at my truck and the eye to eye distance changes with the weight on it. So I would measure the top leaf. If you have the truck loaded and the spring is flat...
It looks cool, but it also looks like alot of added weight up front besides the fact that it will be a ton of work to get it on a M1008. Probably would be best to buy the whole truck to get everything you will need.
I brought my deuce and trailer in the commercial gate at Ft Lewis and after 10 minutes it left a small spot of engine oil. They had the mirrors under it and said that I had an excessive leak and that while they could deny me entrance ......they will let me in this time. If I said anything except...
On the M1031 the PTO ran the 12k generator but the M1028a2 had a dually bed. no generator. What was the pto used for on either the a1 or a2? Did they really have a pto?
I would really like to see one mounted on a M1028. It's probably not too practical so maybe there aren't many out there, but if somebody has one, I'd like to see it and how its attached. I'll try the TM's and classifieds for pics too. Thanks
I changed out the MC and that cured it. I like the fact that these vehicles are relatively easy to work on. My ford pickup went out of warranty and so did the MC on it not long after, but it was so buried in there I had the dealer do it. That cost me almost $900, the MC itself was $700+.
Well, the PS fluid was low, but filling it didn't help. The main symptom is that if the brakes are applied very slowly the pedal will go almost to the floor before the brakes begin to hold. a fast stop the pedal will stay up, usually. I'm going to change the MC 1st, then look at the hydraboost...
My daughters m1009 has sat for over a year and now that she started driving it again a brake problem has developed. I have searched but didn't come up with a matching problem. Idling it can have a good pedal but moving the pedal can go soft and reach the floor in a stop. The soft pedal can...
I think you should go over to the other side and take off the good hub. You can see then how it is put together. Your going to do the brakes and grease that side anyway so do it first.
Second I would put your 14 bolt under there and then look for another front with the same gearing as the 14...
Banks has these "BIG" sales usually around a holiday. I don't know how good they really are, but if Iwas going to make a big purchase from them it would probably help if it was during one of their sales. The other way to get a banks system is buy a wrecked truck with the system. Keep an eye on...
I did the same thing, but got 6. Some dealer must have bought at least 40 of them. Now I have to figure out pickup and shipping to Oregon. I have 2 lds engines and was hoping they could be used as spares for my friends and my own deuces. I'm happy to hear they work with the LDT. Thanks
I forgot to add mileage was bad and power was down to 70% or less of normal but it would get up to freeway speeds. I haven't gone back to it because I didn't think adding diesel to my concoction would payoff enough to make it worthwhile in the work involved and if the MPH still suffered and your...
I ran mine about 2k miles on waste atf and old varnished gas from a wrecking yard. 2k was the limit. It carboned up and began to lose power bad. Boy did that concoction stink. It would take a jogger to her knees in the blue cloud. It was by far the worst smelling stuff I ever witnessed coming...
Are the LDT and LDS injection pumps the same? Basically are they swappable? I see the turbo's c&d don't seem to have any difference in HP and the difference in HP between LDT trucks probably is due to how the IP is set. One last question, is the turbo the same on the LDS & LDT?
Thanks
I'm selling some of these (new ones)and the buyer wants to know the width of the tire after its mounted on 9.00x20 deuce rims. I think the height is 43.1". I need the width.
Thanks
