My point exactly... right now you can buy surplus tops for under 100.00 each so that is no big deal, but I really doubt that 300.00 top will stay at 300.00 once the cheap ones are gone.
Also I doubt many of us keep these under cover. They take up too much room in the shop. Anytime I want to...
For me it is about noise dampening and the fact that fabric rots away and eventually soft tops will not be available at a reasonable price. Once the surplus supply runs out everybody with rag tops will have to have them custom made every few years as they rip up or dry rot... hard top can last...
A fabricator is coming out to look at my truck this week to quote a price to Bob it and shorten the drop side bed. I will ask him what a replacement top would cost.
If these are in fact being sold over seas they would not care if every detail is correct as they would be using it for...
I just went to check the actual closing price, most sold at 1221.00. A fab shop can make one up much cheaper than that. I wish I knew what ever it is that the buyer knows.
I bought my entire truck (with hard top) for less than that.
So I have to ask what made the Hard Tops that sold on GL yesterday worth so much? I had them on my watch list and last time I looked they were over 1000.00 each; all 19 of them.
I keep being told that we are in a recession, but by looking at the prices that Items are bringing on GL you would...
I agree: We spent two years in NC and I have never been taxed so much in my life. Everything from food at the store to the rain water running off of our roof. We took the first opportunity we could find to get out of North Carolina. I will never go back.
:ditto:
It is the same reason that we don't see the HEMTTs surplused out. A few made it out in the past, but not again. By the time these trucks are obsolete enough to be surplused I doubt they will still be selling to civilians. The Surplus program was put in place to benifit farmers, ranchers...
Benz made a Unimog just for skidding logs. It might be a good place to get some ideas for your projects. I have only ever seen one in real life, but there must be others out there.
Everybody makes mistakes, The page scrolls a little just as you click the bid box and you select the wrong item and bid before you catch it....put in one too many zeros at the end, etc. I have never had to retract a bid with GL, but I am sure they will reinstate your account... The only thing...
No you can't resell it...once you buy it it is yours forever... That is why you never see deuces for sale on ebay ;)
Yes you need to be honest on the EUC. If you are unsure if you are going to keep it or sell it, state that in the comments section.
No paperwork has to be filed if you sell. You...
If you pick it up your claim is void. You have to sign the bottom of your invoice which states " Buyer here by agrees to release/waive any and all claims any and all causes of action or damages against GL bla, bla, bla.
If you want are fund demand it and leave the truck where it sets. They are...
There seems to be quite a few repeat sales lately indicating that EUCs are not getting processed in the 60 day window. I have seen three or four items this week up for auction that have been sold in the past.
