Just hooking a 5 ton up to it and pulling it out or burning it out would be the fun way to remove the trailer, But we don't want to damage the trailer. It looks like a Bolster trailer. I think some members have re-purposes them in some pretty cool ways.
Free would be a good price. Just tell...
I may go to the show Quonset show tomorrow? Hey foxtrk2 do you want to meet in the morning? I can meet you around Rt 24 or RT 140. My truck is in Bridgewater. Give me a call. Matt 617-650-2108 or anyone else who is going.
Thanks everyone! I bought the truck for parts or to bob. Just wanted to make sure I was not chopping up something rare. :-P. The box is pretty beat up and I am not sure if it is going to be a chicken coop or a sheet metal dumpster.
Well, who knows? I need to dig around the truck more. Some stuff was changed by the previous owner. It went from the military to, a Police dept to the guy I bought it from.
Keeping the bumper for my M813. It will be black or green on the M813! But if I did keep it chrome, it would really screw up the pesky commuter cars. They would look in the rear view mirror and see themselves!
I thought it was a M109 box. The military put it together this way. It has a rack for the generator on the side of the truck. I have all the windows too. I should call it Cyclops!
I just picked up this M39 series 5 ton. It is a short wheel base and has a Van body on it? It has a workbench inside, It has a generator, Ventilation ducts, and lights inside. The tranny has a 4th gear where 5th is on my M813. It looks like this truck only has a few hundred miles on it since...
To quote Catman "3. And I don't run industrial waste in well engineered, close tolerance machines including diesel engines."
I am a little lost. Are close tolerance machines suppose to use lubrication? If it can run thought your engine on the inside, it should be filtered enough to burn...
I would be concerned about vehicle height with 16.00's. How tall is your truck now? What is the legal eight limit 13' 6"? I believe that height for modern bridges. Forget about going though the hills of Connecticut, the low railroad bridges will make your M820 a convertible!
Yeah, you can't go by computer scenes. I always take the color chip outside before I make my final decision and when in doubt do a sample area. I wanted to same paint and they don't do flat samples. I bought a quart just to be sure.
Goldwing2000 the code code is (river rock 2139-10) Any Ben Moore store can help you. What sheen are you going to do? I like the flat myself. Prime all the rusted areas first. If you use rustoleum let it dry for a few days before top coating.
The guy I am buying the truck from is trying to find the title. The truck is like a M109 but it is a 5ton. I can't find a picture anywhere. The M39 models lists a Van body as M64. this one is not expandable. It was outfitted with chemical agent ducting, it has a big ass workbench, a generator...
I would like to change the multifuel in my M64 I just picked up, to a Cummins 350. I will have to put the two trucks side by side to see the differences when I get it home. If you live anywhere near New Bedford Ma. it would be "Side by each":-P
I was going was to fast on a unfamiliar back road...
TORQUE MULTIPLIER LUG WRENCH SEMI TRUCK RV BUS TRACTOR. this is the one I bought off ebay. It is blue and it comes with the sockets you will need to remove your lug nuts. It is worth every cent.
NSCoyote yes Gojo! I use Gojo to remove grease and oil off parts too. It works great with a stiff...
What are you doing for sleeping arrangements or is that what the recliner is for! Are you leaving it all original on the outside?
Let's see some more pictures and great job, BTW!
