Be mindful of how you modify the TC's shift linkages and don't rest your leg, hand or anything else on it. First comes the slop in the linkage, then comes the slop in the shift rods detent ball and spring, then ya cant keep it in high anymore, then comes the slop in your shift forks from trying...
Man what a trip... I think I would have burnt that thing to the ground and bought a plane ticket home by now... LOL Or well... its always easy to think such when it is not your beast doing the butt kicking.
Its really cool to see so many people out there bobbing and weaving trying to help each...
The top is painted and the aluminum oxide is down... This is a little brighter than I would have wanted for a "semi gloss" so the top will be installed and then painted again with the cab at which point I will use some flattening agent to tone it down... The pictures make it look funny with the...
STOP DRIVING IT... 5-15 psi is to low for an engine to be properly lubercated.
Assuming your oil and filter are within their life span... Get a second gauge to verify the PSI, mechanical gauges do fail... If the PSI is that low it is critical you change the oil pump before you smoke the...
Im starting to feel like a bad MV project guy for not posting in so long... I am working non stop but the progress is slow due to the work and such... I don't think anyone wants to see a part by part refinishing job but I apologize for not having more interesting stuff... Its bad enough I have...
Now ya made me go look for the batery thingo... I found 800 and 860 CCA for the 6TL... Found something even cooler though for changing your battries over to gel cels... http://www.milbatteries.com/accessories/adapter.html
RE: Re: Heating oil
To hit at he synthetic question... I dont see why not... Snythetic diesel has been in production from WW2 to date in some countries.
600??? Really... Opps sorry... I must of had the numbers from the gel 6TL's stuck in my head or was doubling the numbers... I was thinking 1200 each for some reason... Retarded as usual...
Geesh and I was disappointed because I only had managed 1900CCA with my battery set up... *feeling much...
WHHOOOooooo Horsey.... Some confusion needs to be cleared up here before any one can help and I think ya got 10 to many things going on at once...
First...
Ditto on what Mike said... batteries in pairs only, meaning to exactly the same and bought at the same time... and stop using your truck...
Not quite... He means steam clean / pressure wash the engine down so you can see where your leaks start at and how bad they actually are... There are lots and lots of leaking deuces on the road with leaks... Drive it and enjoy it for a while.
Might want to look a little closer at that pan gasket... Looks like its coming from above, not the pan... proably the head... Do the heads first and see if that kills it... When ya do the gaskets have the head shaved and change all of the freeze plugs at the same time, or at least the 1" plugs...
I noticed on #6 when changing my head gaskets that it was the only line that felt short to me... All of the others had plenty of room to play with but that one I had to get bent back "just so" or it would not reach at all.
Anyone else experiance this? Maybe something to it?
Design flaw in the alternators?? If that be the case we would all be yanking them and changing them for something else. Your asking for a tank to take on a afternoon squirrel hunt. Even if there was a "flaw" in the alternators there are tons of different ones that would / could fit the truck...
emmado hit it... THere is something about the ones produced before (if I remember correctly) 2004 ... ida34 is also correct, changing the relays is not a hard thing ehter.
aua Ya guys miss / forget my other post about this topic?
