    Diablo Build Update (pics)

Yeah im stuck in sheet metal hell right now... Gotta get the cab closed in before installing the AC. I had finished the back a long time ago but never finished the top section... 19 hours on it so far today grinding and welding... Thing weights 87 lbs now and will hold at LEAST 3 people on top...

Goodyear 395/85 MVTs VS. Michelin 14:00 XLs on Bobbed Deuce

RE: Goodyear 395/85 MVTs VS. Michelin 14:00 XLs on Bobbed De Keep the data coming... I ran all of the numbers on this months ago when I started my truck and the 395's were a 14% increase in final drive over the stock NDT's... I was getting about 9.7MPG with the NDT's with a verified top end of...

    Steering Wheel Replacement?

I just went to double check... mines 22"... I went combing through the parking lot at work looking at different sizes and such the other day... Rangers and S10's have a similar cab size and use an 18" wheel... seemed pretty manageable being 4 inches smaller than the one in the truck. A 15 - 16"...

    Behind the bumper chain lockers...

Yeah but then your making a bracket, and out of heavier material which means more parts, more handling, etc... I know it sounds logical but when you go to build something in sheet metal if you can keep it in one piece and not switch gauges, etc its faster and cheaper because of having to swap...

    Wire Numbers?

Come on Jones... Thats why ya always keep a box of .22 LR in the glove box!!! rofl Good point btw...

    starter/battery price?

If the batteries check out pull that starter... Mine was pulling the same crap a few weeks ago and it was rust on the bendix shaft. It would not allow the solenoid to pull the bendix all of the way forward which will keep the contactors from meeting up... Lots of click, click, click but no spin...

    Steering Wheel Replacement?

Been wondering myself since I've done the same... I am TRYING to find a reasonable but good looking 18"... Most of the newer tractors are using those but the aftermarket custom jobbers are outrageously priced ($300). Wheels seem to go from 20-15" with not a lot in between so let me know what ya...

who out here has a Pinzgauer

The 710 is back in Jax... what a love hate relationship with that thing... IMHO... One of the best off road vehicles ever produced... There is nothing you can buy that will do what a Pinz will do with zero modification and trying to modify another vehicle to bring it up the Pinz's capability is...

    Behind the bumper chain lockers...

I was out poking around at the idea this morning... A set of boxes are easy enough to do out of 14 ga which would not need a frame or any fancy mounting deal... Just bolting it to the back side of the bumper with a doubler plate in the box would be plenty strong enough for 100 - 150 lbs of...

    Diablo Build Update (pics)

Took 3 days off... Very needed but I feel very behind too... Though it might not look like very much I have HOURS AND HOURS vested in sandblasting, painting, or powder coating part after part after part.. Most of which will never amount to anything because you cant see them when on the truck...

    Steering Wheel Replacement?

I am getting ready for doing the same on my M35... I think your wheel is smaller but is same size shaft and so on... First ya gotta find a wheel ya want and then build an adapter for it using the center out of your old steering wheel. Not a simple bolt up but not that bad of a project ether...

YES, There IS (maybe) a Deuce Spin On Oil Filter Adapter

Napa PN 4067 its the same baldwin / hastings adapter... Again... not something you can do without a lathe.

    12.5 MPG in a Deuce?

I was talking to Ken about this the other night with my truck... I was getting about 9.7GPM on my trip down here when the truck was stock but was running a top speed of 63 MPH @ 2600 RPM which was verified by the chase truck at the time (my odometer was saying 60-61)... Which does not at all...

put in wrong brake fluid ?????

RE: flushing brake system You can use ether or on the fluid... Both work but DOT3 attracts moisture and causes rust... On the other hand it gives a better pedal because DOT 5 tends to be a little more springy in petal feel... In any case I wouldn't mix them... Food for thought... If you just...

YES, There IS (maybe) a Deuce Spin On Oil Filter Adapter

RE: YES,There IS (maybe) a Deuce Spin On Filter Adapter I hate to be the bearer of this but that adapter plate will not thread into a Deuce. Wix / Napa make the same job that fits Cummings and Detroit's, it uses a solid bolt (1/2 or 9/16) to bolt through the adapter plate into the filter...

    Electrical mystery

Yes and no... The problem with battery cables and grounds sometimes is that they will show voltage but will not carry amperage so you think they are good but are not... Being that he saw a arc I am guessing a bad connection but when your chasing something its often times easier to give her the...

    Electrical mystery

A quick test... On the starters solenoid... Using the Batt + terminal and the start button terminal use a jumper between the two to bump the starter over (apply common sense, in neutral, engine kill pulled, ign switch off). If it spins over the problem is in the wiring harness. If it does not...
