Congratulations, maybe buy a lottery ticket as more often than not, it's found not to match. Again, ya probably shouldn't necessarily rely on it to verify the data plate number, unless you get lucky.
That's an internal identification number that AMG uses and has no correlation to the number on the data plate for purposes of validating vehicle data plate number. If you're lucky, the number may be close, but frequently they aren't.
While I think the thread has run its course, I suggest that shutting out the subject entirely isn't the right approach either.
This was probably the first time that the elephent in the room has been more thorougjly discussed here than before. While there was some bickering, there was a lot of...
Because in GA they do not title off-road vehicles. I know there is a difference, but in the case of here in GA - you can't register a vehicle without a title, so in GA they go hand in hand. The 1 exemption to this is vehicles they consider to be antiques, which even the earliest of HMMWV's...
I PM'd him the other day when he originally posted this. He said that he titled the vehicle with the off-road stamped SF97 and that he did this in October/November timeframe.
I know of 1 other person here in GA who received a similar letter last year - he had successfully convinced his tag...
That's not a bad idea, but I suppose that if the law got involved, that's why you'd have a Registration and Insurance Card plus a Tag. The preponderance of the evidence would certainly be on your side. I haven't got around to marking up my vehicle just yet though, so it was essentially naked and...
I've certainly felt your pain, but those days are long behind me. The Hi-Back seat actually does make a world of difference though - it's no Cadillac, but it's definitely better than the equivalent of a stadium seat.
I drove my GMV to a local Sonic for a milkshake the other day prior to visiting a family friend. When we pulled in, my son commented about how there were a couple of "Army men" sitting in the dining area outside, which I noted. When I pulled up to one of the order kiosks, I noticed from around...
Kinda like gcbennet, my experiences have been very similar. Lots of waves and thumbs-up. I have had one guy offer to buy mine as well.
I've never had anything negative - not even a gripe about mileage or being a "gas guzzler".
In all fairness to what Tomcat posted, I would say that what was mentioned was more of a safety issue than anything.
- While it wouldn't be the first time that I've seen a high-back seat rigged up to a springer frame, you can bet that it's attached in likely a half-ass manner. If something...
My wife has a Cricut stencil cutter and I've found that the "Street Sign" Cricut cartridge produces very convincing vinyl letters/numbers for my truck. I've had mine in place for about 6 months now and they're still sticking quite nicely.
I really couldn't give a hoot about what she does with...
There was a guy on the auction website selling the right channels. I bought 2 and used an angle grinder to give a similar appearance for the left and right.
I bought mine a few weeks ago and he had plenty left, so you might want to see if he has anymore.
Aside from misinformed employees giving you bum-scoop on the whole GA title thing - what's the problem with a clean SF-97? That is a title after all and shouldn't be any more difficult than if you were going to register a deuce or any other vehicle that had one.
