I have to go to the hospital for some tests, you know.. the Dr's need more money for their lifestyle, so I will be out of pocket for a few weeks. Then I will see about myself & a few Deuce owning friends coming to the central Florida meetings. Critique it, I have a front tire that looks perfect...
I purchased & drove home a 1987 M35A2C from Blue Ridge, Georgia yesterday. Thats 420 miles one way, with no mechanical troubles @ all. I will post pictures tomorrow when I get to a fully functional computer, it is not the last one I posted pictures of, that one hasn't been repaired yet & is...
Its a Live Oak tree that hates trucks, cars, houses & R/C planes, quadrotors & helicopters! You extracted a piece of flesh (wood) from it, but it did siginificant damage to your pride & truck. Make firewood out of what you got & eye the rest for more firewood next winter! Sorry for your tree...
Get stoked, it's hard going with all the big trucks on the high ways. but lots of fun. The trip back from Blue Ridge, Georgia took from 15:00 Friday afternoon, till Saturday morning @ 03:30. Going thru Atlanta @ 17:30 was a witch due to traffic & all the fools cutting in front of me all while...
Made it home, wow has it rained. Anyway, 420 mile recovery went without problem except the one & a half hour traffic jam in Atlanta. What a fantastic truck. More tomorrow.
I have several sets of plugs & earmuffs; no there is no reason not to block out all the extra loud noises. No tunes on the way home, though. The trip begins within the hour! I'll keep you guys posted from the rest stops on the way back. :driver:
Tomorrow morning @ 05:00 starts the trip to check out & drive the Deuce in North Georgia. I probably should do the recovery in a different thread. If I do, the software may just merge the entire thread. We shall see.!
Awesome job getting her going again. Watching that spinning motion made my eyes want to cross, but you can see that she is running smoothly. Told you that you might want to pull up (or cut down) some pesky trees with it. I'll buy you a beer or two when I finally get to meet you in person!
The Deuce was listed on here & in the Atlanta Cragslist for $7900.00. I'll post what I paid for it after the sale is final in due consideration to the seller, I think it is a fair deal for both sides or I wouldn't be driving 420 miles one way to see it in person & drive it! Unless it won't make...
I will be leaving Friday morning about 06:00 in order to get to North Georgia sometime in the early afternoon. The route up is the standard I-75 to North of Atlanta to what ever highway takes the the remainder of the trip. The return trip will be Hwy 60 thru Dahlonega thru Gainesville; then...
Here's the pics I promised. Yes, I will take spare fuel filters. Off hand, do you know the number for a NAPA fuel filter set?
If I posted this in the wrong thread mods, please move it to where it is supposed to be. This is going to be more fun than going to Knob Creek, Kentucky for the fall...
Friday morning, I am going to checkout & probably buy 1987 Deuce from a member here. The recovery is going to be fun as the truck is in North Georgia & this is going to be a solo recovery back to Gainesville, Florida. There will be no more posting in the new members thread by me about this, but...
It's a learning experiance & you are on a curve. Keep plugging away as she is coming together nicely. Grounds seem to be a big problem on these truck, reguardless if it is corrosion or just not connected!
What a great looking truck & it got you home without any problems, congratulations are in order for you. I may have an upcoming trip of just a little further distance than yours was, to do a recovery also. Hope I have the same story by the time I get home.
What's all the white stuff all over...
Glad to see all your hard work was worth it. Nice to have a mobile crane in the yard to pull up pesky trees .... & do the heavy lifting on your MV when the time comes! Cheers.
Ouch, that really puts a sour taste in your mouth after that deal. If you want to continue bidding at the GL auctions, you'll probably have to pay & take the unit off their lot. I, like you are, would be really ticked @ the GL folks. If you pay the fee they want for the one time deal, that is a...
Glad everything went well for the trip home & you made it safely. From the pictures, it looks like a very good truck, even the CTIS works, you have a keeper. The engines mods, no clue; maybe some other more informed member will chime in shortly!
