That procedure would be relevant for your truck also, the basic instrumentation is for the most part the same in all HMMWVs except for the later speedos.

There are no bad questions, the original study was with a basic truck that likely had a 60A alt, your truck should have a 200A dual voltage alt, It is actually best to use an inverter for the radios for example as the chance of...
The HMMWV does not have the electronic injection pump, so no module to relocate.
Depending on what your 12V needs are and if you have a dual voltage alternator (you should on that model) you may not need the 12V add on alt.
There are also many 24v/12v converters that you can use.
EDIT if you...
Have you actually measured the voltage? there is a thing called afterglow that keeps the glow plugs warm after the wait light goes out, the meter staying in the yellow means nothing.
The "clunk" is normal that is the run solenoid dropping out.
The valves are in the upper part of the housing where the shaft goes in, first I would work it to heat it up then I would take a small hammer and "tap" it while someone was trying to steer to the left just below where the hoses go in to try and free up the valve.
Bummer, sounds like a valve failure in the steering box and I believe that is the box that is next to impossible to find so a rebuild would be the likely choice.
I would work with it some more to see if you can get that valve to unstick.
I love that top, dang shame Harris county did such a poor job stripping that truck and ruining all the harnesses as it really is a straight truck in great physical condition.
So I just picked up another parts truck (2007 M1097R1 the disease continues :ROFLMAO: ) that has all the electronics I...
Many of the 400A alternators have an undersized pulley so it will charge more at low RPMs, this will make your tach read higher that the RPMs actually are.
It's going to scream like a banshee anyway.
looks like Coug beat me again!! :giggle:
Most of what you buy that is not from one of the recommended dealers is Chicom junk especially electrical parts.
What model truck do you have?
Do you have the 400A alt? (that's where the tach signal comes from)
The higher the voltage is compared to what it should be tells the trans that the...
If that was the case then the pulley defiantly was not tightened up enough, it should be TIGHT against the shoulder on the alt side of the shaft, this pic shows the side that should go in against the shoulder.
If it needed to come out to align with the belts you had the wrong pulley on it, this...
I have not, I still need to order the tires, I have some BFGs I was going to use but now am going to buy 1 Interco ROK-08 and see how it looks and if it will fit the spare mount, it looks like it will be fine but I will likely need to install the pintle hitch extension that I have.
Ah, I see that now along with the #1, I miss copied the part number as 12518559 from my rim so my searches did not have any results
Unfortunately they failed to list the correct valve stem for the paired wheel, not helpful for someone ordering parts, but that does sort of confirm the stud...
