Yes, you do need the towbar feet. The ones with 1" pins on both sides.

The 20mm can is about three times the size of the 40mm can, but is just as long. If you set two 40mm cans side by side and then layed another on top of them but on it's side, you have about the same cross section as the 20mm.

Yep. 2.5 ton sprag transfer case with a rear output pto. The pto is probably worth more than the whole transfer case.

Ok, then take the small Allen plug out of the air cylinder end plate and then push the brake pedal. See if it blows brake fluid out. Brake fluid getting in there messes with the brake switches too.

Bearings, pistons, and timing cover should be all unless the shavings are coming from inside the case of the injector pump, which is highly unlikely seeing as it still runs. Were there any magnetic pieces at all?
