How NOT to install a Jeep Heater
After seeing Cabell's nice installation, thought I'd post how NOT to install it. This is how sumbuddy else did it before I bought it and it's coming out for the time being. Might even end up in the Deuce.
BTW, those water outlet holes in the block take 1/2"...
I ran those numbers for pricing. Pays to look. The NAPA number is $2. The Dorman number shows $7.98 at Advanced.
Now to get the bugger out and see if it works.
Thanks.
Steve
OK. Still trying to get one out intact.
Any thoughts on problem potential from the free-spinning studs that hold the brake line clips? I can't figure out how one would replace them without tearing down the axle or perhaps welding (and they're really in pretty bad shape for that.)
Thanks.
Steve
My truck came with a crimped brake line & the replacements so I'm working through the repairs. Only some are covered in the downloadable manuals and my CD hasn't arrived from MilitaryManuals yet.
- Wheel cyls aren't leaking so I'm putting off replacement. Is there a NAPA number for the wheel...
I saw your 1st posts and photos and found it interesting because you bought yours within 48 hours of me buying mine. Paint is the last step in bringing your truck back, so I'm going to suggest giving that part of the project some thought.

If you Google "Kentzen Zenthane", you'll see that the mfr's site says straight out that it's CARC.

Very nice setup. If you're looking for something that really cuts the heat, look into one of these. While pricey, they're extremely effective. We have one to cover the whole van when we travel with dogs. With doors open the temp difference is very noticeable even in direct summer sun...

I heartily recommend the Redball/Gilbert show, and I'll probably second the RC as soon as I get loose to go over one in person. The videos look like a blast.

"...I was not aware that i could blow the flasher so easy..."
You can blow anything easily with a dead short. A prior owner had installed marker lights on the bed, a wire shorted, and took out the 3 way switch and turn signal switch. I was lucky my flasher didn't go because it was brand new...
I replaced a bad air pressure gauge line and used Teflon tape on the threads to stop leaking.
You might try that in conjunction with tightening connections.
