I didn't realize that the NAPA was on the thicker end. I always thought 90W was 90W. I did look at TSC Ford/GL-1 but when I saw that they had the 40W/non-detergent, I decided to give it a shot.
I had seen quite a few good Internet user reviews on the Traveller, and several in-the-aisle...
I did find 40W non-detergent at Tractor Supply and set aside (3) jugs. SKU Number: 0801244. It's Traveller brand.
Good enough for me to give it a try in the new transfer case and old transmission for a year unless somebody knows that I'm asking for trouble.
Thanks to all for the help.
Steve
M-35tom: Thanks. I've been reading your posts and will go with either 40W (Rotella or other; having trouble finding non-detergent) or 2nd choice/GL-1 this time. I'm just trying to sort out if I'm right that the NAPA GL-1 90W equates to gear oil.
Thanks again.
Steve
I figured I'd post to this thread instead of starting a new one. My last change I used GL5/MT-1 80/90W gear oil off the shelf from PEP Boys. I'm installing a Rockwell-rebuilt TCase next weekend and wondered:
1. I understand that Rockwell has a bit of oil in it already but it needs to be topped...
I saw around 82" in the references S&C posted and Olive-Drab, and another in the TM 9-2330-213-14&P (10/90) that suggested 88"+, though that could be for the M105 or either/both the way the table is laid out.
I might be chicken but a 90.5" enclosure seems like a squeaker when you're fitting...
I appreciate these responses. I've been through a number of these ideas on the way to yesterday's drawing but I'm looking again with fresh eyes with the new ideas.
The problem with working metal is that I just don't have the equipment and there's no budget or storage right now for reasonably...
I really do need an occasional bed lift device for heavier stuff. I'm still considering winch & ramps, but I really like the idea of a crane.
I'm thinking of a pedestal mount along the principles of the receiver tube idea in the left photo but using the M35 pintle and centering it with the...
Who knows what'll happen? I'm not too proud to take a few minutes to talk to a staffer. To me it's better than dead air and better to be able to say I let them know what I think.

Truck looks nice and price is below what a lot of them are selling for around here. In addition to the above: Just looked these up for a friend who's doing a GL pickup on Friday. He's just gonna try to start it and get it on the flatbed, so these are overkill for him but there are lots of...
Got a call today from State Sen. Bob Gordon's office asking if I wanted to make any additional points because they're reviewing the rule. I had sent him a copy of my comments to the bureau. Nice to know that stuff like that gets read and registers. It was worth taking a few minutes to write...
Not my trailer, but Joanne picked up on this one a couple of blocks from a dog walking client. I think the canoe rack is very cool. The 3rd photo is just a bonus. I always wondered what good those signs are.

"... if you saw it in person, you can tell the difference..."
Granted, photos on a computer aren't good measures of color matches but your truck looks very nice. One of the ways Art likes to torture me is to pull out NOS parts and ask me which color number they are. He has a bunch of stuff...
The problem isn't in trying to manage and preserve valuable areas, or in policing violators who damage them. The problem is in specifically banning 2 types of MVs without regard to how they are operated. That's bad rule-making.

Originally, I was going to just mount the pintel on the front bumper as in the PS piece, but got waved off that idea since my friend said he saw too many front bumpers bent that way.
I got ideas from and posted in this thread:

Perhaps far-fetched but you might want to check the transfer case mounts for tightness. In the process of troubleshooting mine popping out of high range, we replaced bushings and torqued all mounting bolts to spec.
Unfortunately, it didn't fix the transfer case pop out but my transmission...
