UPS is so bad that we have a cover letter to suppliers that reads in part; "...orders shipped via UPS will be refused and will not be re-ordered. Suppliers not complying with stated shipping requirements will be dropped from list of approved sources".
I personally have a P.O. Box address and...

Jason, Sounds like a do-able project. The trick is to program out as much of the ideas as you can on paper and get your sources and contacts established. Suppliers, wrecking yards, others infected with OD rash, are a lot more helpful if they think you've done...

Hey Jason,
Always up for another toy.
How much, how far down the road, and by then... will I be able to park it at the rest home?
Yeah, you're right. The .22 WMRs are too long to fit in the fuse holders.
Be a heck of an audible blown-fuse alarm. You wouldn't need spare fuses as much as a six-pack of spare undies.
Fuses and fusible links are good if you're close to an auto supply store. If you spend any time on cross-country travel, you might consider a circuit breaker in the circuit. They'll cool and go back to working where a fuse is a one-time deal. And no more replacement fuses can mean a LONG walk...
Had a Pinz 6X6. Two happiest days were when I got it and when I sold it. All controls for everything (it seemed like) are hydraulic... Never stopped counting slave and master cylinder combos. At the time, Steyr was going around to the surplus sales and buying up all the parts so that they could...
Roger on the lifting shackles. The tow bar feet will probably stay in storage until a four-wheeling expedition is on the horizon; then get put into on-board toolbox for the day. I'm actually thinking I'll get more business as tow-er as opposed to tow-ee. The baby HEMTT can be 18" deep before I...
Nope; nothing bigger. I'm thinking since it's just a deuce under the skin, that another deuce oughta be able to handle it but I have to make the tow bar fit the feet. The standard tow bar feet looked kinda puny sticking out if a 4' X 8' "bumper".
Might also check with beltfed34 on ebay. Austin (Austin Aviation) has the adapters with both pin sizes that you just flip over in the towbar leg for whichever size you need.
RE: more baby HEMTT pics
Thanks to all for the kind words and interest. It's been an experience(?!?) but one I enjoy. Keeps me off the streets at night and away from being glued to the TV screen.
Bjorn; looking forward to seeing you when you motor through. Call when you get close so I can be...
RE: more baby HEMTT pics
Oh thanks, Rizzo... Now I'll NEVER be able to lift one.
Besides, mine are no doubt lighter due to 15% tread wear and the fact that I'm not using the run-flat insert.
RE: more baby HEMTT pics
Don't know if I'll have the on-board vice or not; will depend on available space. Funny how cramped the space is even on something this big and of course, as soon as I get the vice on it I'll need to find a place for the bottles for the torch set and etc.
Gonna have a...

Me brudder and I wrestled the spare tire carrier up onto the pass side walkway and I'm starting to lay out attachment points. Here's some pictures so far.
Pics of carrier up in place including one one showing my four-legged helper doing some of his best work on a chew toy.

After a bit of a lull, I've got some more pics to share.
Details of cargo bed side racks giving a more "cargo bed" look.
Details of engine doghouse progress w/ view of radiator and intercooler in place.
Just posted a copy of 2000 Fuel Users Guide to the tech articles section. As soon as it's approved you should be able to get into it and see what the differences/similarities are between mil-spec fuels currently in use.
The later switches have the bugs cleared out; and, they plug right into the existing harness. Be sure to hook up the ground wire first before connecting the main harness coupling.
