try going in and out with the throttle and see if the hertz meter moves. also any harbor freight has the kill a watt meter that will give you the hertz reading. just dont go above 130 on the volts with it. be me i would buy a meter first you dont want to go below 55 hertz to long on these sets...
well the conn. box i have must be an earlier version or something . the wiring diagram inside the box is different than the two in the tm. the box i have switches the neutrals as well as the hots. i removed the neutrals from the switch and conn. them both to the lo output terminal. i guess i...
i have two 002 mounted on a 103 trailer with the connection box on it that iam wiring up. these sets will be conn, up to my house. i have separated the neutral bonds at the gens. but in the fender mounted box the grounds went to the lo output termanal on the box. the neutrals go to the switch...
if you have no fire to the plug. pull the mag, mark its position although i have had to put a light on mine to time it correctly. when you get it out use some contact cleaner on the pints and check the gap. then spin the mag if you can get it to fire then order new points and cond, i wouldnt...
the tm you need is5-2805-203-14 with unit off seat main then turn counterclockwise 3/4 of a turn. yes that is it on the bottom side of carb. with the t handle. turn idle needle its on top left side of carb. counterclockwise off seat one half turn. then crank it up apply load and adjust the...
you say you put a new carb. on. you may just need to adjust the main jet, its not fixed. refer to the tm. i do know on mine when i put 4 kw on it just a half a turn one way or the other made the differance of maintaining the engine speed or slowing down. also be sure all 4 cyl. are firing. pull...
the voltage reconnect switch on the mep16a is 120, or 240 single phase and 120/ 208 three phase you wont have a neutral on the 240 setting but will on 120 single phase setting or the 120/208 three phase . if you are trying to wire it up for your house turn the reconnect switch to 120/208 three...
depends how cheap it is. its a 2 pole 3600 rpm unit not the slower 1800 rpm so it uses alot of fuel. 2.4 gph fully loaded. i have one in real nice shape runs good and can handle the load with no problem. i have to admit i dont run it much as i have several diesel and gas units that are the...
yes mine would fluctuate between 119 to 136 volts up and down . i used a hot iron you dont have to woory about the coating it will burn off. remove the board and look real good under a good light and magnifiy if possible. i think the joints related to this pot were the problem i did these the...
gary mine would fluctuate also. the tm said the problem was with a pot on the vr board. adjusting it did nothing. long story short turned out to be a cold solider joint on the vr board. i had to solder quite a few. look for a blackish circle inside of the solder joint. i had several. i believe...

i have a 801 which is the 5 kw version and i have the 002. the 803 and 003 are the larger counterparts. the 801 and 803 are lister petter engines with electric govenors. these are the latest the military offers and are still in use. i can say the 801 and 803s are very quiet when compared to the...
the voltage on this 002 acts like its hunting going up and down from 108 to 130 volts. this gen. did this and then stoped, but today it started again. i read a few previous threads that says theirs a pot or something on the regulator board to adjust i dont see where nor could i find this...
