Driversdie drop front axle? Not sure what you mean.
As far as a traction device I would go with either an OX Locker or and ARB Locker. Both selectable. The OX locker is manually engaged from inside the cab with the pull of a lever (attached to a cable). The ARB is a simple flip of a...
A diffrent truck as in it actually gets out of its own way. Can pull grades at speed and not be passed by the grandma in her handicap stickered Prius. You can tow a "small" trailer but nothing like a 9,000 lbs behemouth. IF you have to run with the big Boys in a M10?? then put a cummins in it.
I will be into my kit for a bit over $600 if memory serves me correct. That includes all new gaskets from Banks and a new Turbo with everything else being used but in excellent shape. The Banks exhaust system in also in great shape.
Yah.... They wish they had such a nice truck as we do.
A turbo totally changes the drivability of the truck. I purchased a turbo for mine just waiting for the rest to arrive and have it installed.
I had removed the cotter pins on the front shackles and placed a diffrent type of pin that can be pulled off for quick removal. My fault that it was stolen. I will be using small Grade 8 bolts next time.
Need help in finding one front recovery shackle and pin. Someone stole one of mine off of my M1028.:cookoo: I looked on Ebay but I think those are for a diffrent military vehicle as the pin mount is offset from center. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
Today I ordered a sway bar disconnect kit as well as new steering stabilizer from O.R.D. as mine is beyond shot. I cant tell its shot when im driving but took it off and it just slides back and forth with no resistance of ANY kind. I am still amazed at what a diffrence my truck feels with the...
A worn out steering stabilizer will not cause Death Wobble. Case in point. My stock steering stabilizer has been on my truck for 26 years and it is doing absolutely nothing in the stabbilization field. I just put on 37" tires and still no death wobble. Death wobble usually occures when the pre...
No tie rods in the King Pin set up.
Make sure you have plenty of grease on hand before you pull the king pin cups and springs. It takes alot of grease. Also why you are there hit the grease fittings (Zirks) under the the knuckle. You may have a greasable fitting in the knuckle U joint as...
I happen to feel that the mid 80s Chevy truck was one of the best designed and used the strongest of parts. People down play the NP208 but mine looks to be original and while its not as beefy as the NP205 thats in the M1031 its still plenty strong for what the vehicle was designed for. They...
I doubt it was a reject panel. They were all built on the same assembly line in no particular order. You could have had a M1028 followed by a Civi K30 and so on. That panel was either bad from the start or somewhere in her life span something happened to it. If it was "rejected" then it...
