If this link will not work type "power bleeder steel soldiers" into google.
After reading through this it sounds like you had bad fuel. A sure bet solution would be to change your fuel filters, drain the tank, and refill with new diesel.
Bleeding the brakes is easy with a power bleeder. Make sure you use "DOT 5" and this stuff ain't cheap.
Since your already into the batt area. I would recommend cleaning the cable to frame ground, then clean all the connections at the starter.
Also, a solargizer will help make your new batteries last longer.
Mine an has that same yellow sticker. I run straight diesel and one quart of transmission fluid.
Which reminds me to try seafoam on the next fill up.
Oh just a thought I would watch the quality of any thing you put in your tank. Water, metals, and food particles will clog your filters. I know...
I just wanted to say that I feel for you man. Didn't you just buy this truck? Just focus on fixing one thing at a time.
I think you guys have an excellent point about possible damage to the drive train.
Love my 6.0 had to replace both batteries in December though. It's an 07 the last ones they made.
Oh my deuce starts fine in the teens with the flame heater. Who knows about -10 or below. I never want to be in that kind of cold.
Hate to say it but did you have full coverage on the truck?
I for one could not fix that myself and if it was me i could contacting a dealer. This i not a cheap opition though sorry I'm not much help.
Maybe some can chime if you post some photo's
