The only difficult thing to acquire when I did this swap was the bracket for the TV cable. Everything else can be easily found at a junkyard, parts store, or just ordered online. If you've got the bracket then you're all set.

Was your TV cable set correctly? 700r4 will burn up real fast if the TV cable isn't properly adjusted.

I pulled an adapter out of a Blazer with a 700r4/208 from the junkyard. I didn't measure it, but I would say the adapters are roughly the same width. I would think that if the adapter were much thicker, then the output shaft from the 700r4 would need to be longer to cover that distance or it...

I just did this swap. The rear goes on fine, no prob. I haven't gotten around to putting the front on, but it should be fine as well.

As a total novice I rebuilt my alternator with their kit and followed the TM. Wasn't difficult, didn't take long and fixed my charging problem.

On my first test drive the 1-2 shift was so hard it was breaking my tires loose. Right now 1-2 is firm and I almost don't notice 2-3 or 3-4.

Where should I start looking to solve the heat problem? It doesn't seem to be slipping. This is also with a cooler mounted in front of the radiator.

So I wonder if I was running so hot because I wasn't locking up soon enough?

Well, I finally got it all wrapped up today and took it on a test drive. TV cable wasn't quite set right at first and 1-2 shift was happening way late. I adjusted the cable and now it feels more normal, shifting around 1500rpm. Overdrive rocks! Man it's nice to cruise on the highway and not go...

Have you looked through the Operator Manual? It has a lot of that in it.

Unless you're on a really tight budget, $80 to rebuild both isn't too bad. The combo kit from cucv electric and the TM and you're all set.
