    700r4 TV Cable Bracket Installation

Great, thanks Wayne! I'm installing a temp gauge and auxiliary cooler for the transmission. I'm also wiring up a switch on the dash to control lockup, selecting between auto lockup in 4th, manual lock in 2nd 3rd or 4th, and no lockup. I'm routing that through an LED next to the dash switch...

    700r4 TV Cable Bracket Installation

I've finished building a 700r4 that I have bolted up to the 6.2. I'm ready to hook up the tv cable. I have the TV Cable Bracket for the 6.2/700r4 but I can't figure out how it's supposed to be installed. I've tried googling but I'm getting no luck. How does the bracket attach to the motor, to...

    Will a 1988 Blazer top fit M1009?

The original poster has an '84 m1009 and is wanting to know if an '88 civy k5 top will fit. The post on the K5 year ranges with swappable tops is applicable because that is what the poster is trying to figure out.

    Electrical malfunction CUCV

My wife's car does what you described. Every once in a while you turn the key and nothing, acts just like a dead battery, not even a click. For some reason it loses connection at the battery. I just grab the leads, give them a shake and then it will crank over with full force. One of these days...

    Gen 1 light came on

Got it solved! I sat back down with Gen 1 and torn into it again. I had one fiber washer out of place. Corrected the fiber washer and put it all back together. Mounted the alt in the truck, crossed my fingers and fired it up .... Gen 1 light went out! Turns out the rebuild was necessary it...

    I keep slipping out of 4HI ?!?!

Ouch! That sucks if it turns out to be just the linkage.

    I keep slipping out of 4HI ?!?!

You can check it yourself. It's all in the TM. Here's the first page:

    I keep slipping out of 4HI ?!?!

If the new one is doing the same thing, it would seem like it must be your linkage, not setting fully in 4H

    Alternator Rebuild Problem

The non-self tapping original did an easy job of tapping it for me. Hand screwdriver and a little bit of down pressure

    water leaking

Coolant on the firewall is definitely heater core. It's and easy replace, just follow the TM. I had the same thing not too long ago. If you buy a new heater core from a parts store, make sure you get one for a truck without A/C. Parts guy didn't ask and I didn't think to specify. The one for a...

    Home Transmission Flush?

I searched online for a verification of my upcoming comment, but I can't find one. I was told by a mechanic that GM put out a notice to dealerships to NOT flush transmissions. Flushes were just a money making scheme for shops, as a previous post stated. You are always better off dropping the...

I think my Cross Member got longer!

I was thinking about putting a high lift jack in there and pushing my frame that little bit

I think my Cross Member got longer!

Not upside down. The hump is facing up to the adapter That crossmember shown in the TM looks U shaped from end to end, mine is straight. It was straight when it came off the truck too.

I think my Cross Member got longer!

No funny business here. I pulled my transmission, transfer case, and cross member. I got all the grime off and started putting it all back together. Transmission is on the jack and bolted to the engine. I put the adapter on the back of the trans and went to put the cross member on so I could...

Swapping drivers/passenger alternator was next on my list to see if the lights switched too. I just need to find a few minutes to spend on it. Uhg!
