Jimma, FYI that's not an EPA certified straw on my big gulp. It vents into the atmosphere. I don't have to worry about dripping all over my hands. I need to pick up a supply of them before the EPA puts out a new design.:-x
JC, I would be betting that your slight loss of power might be more temperature related than anything else. On a fine Kentucky day when it's 85 degrees and 90% humidity, I doubt you'll experience any loss of power. Might want to throw a few gallons of gas in the tank to thin it out a bit more...
anybody got a good replacement for those new EPA spouts on a regular can? I used one once, and returned it straightaway, after it leaked like crazy when I was emptying it into my motorcycle tank. Come to find out, you can't get a regular nozzle on a plastic gas can anymore...
Sunbrella, Marine Canvas, Fabrics, Hardware and Supplies - Sailmaker's Supply
these folks look like they've got a decent selection of different canvas types/colors. I haven't done business with them yet.
it would be a good idea to put a strong magnet to it before pouring in your tank, if it's your 1st change then you don't know what kind of metal shavings are going to drain out. At the very least, let it sit for a couple days to let it settle to the bottom of your bucket, and don't empty it...
jc, maybe one good thing about a hand crank is that you may be able to tell something's up if it gets hard to crank. Whereas with the machine-driven pumps, you won't know until you hear or see something. I think it's a good idea to be wearing safety glasses when I'm transferring with anything...
I got one of the HF hand cranks that I use to take wmo out of my final tank. I had 2 filters on it, the durn thing wouldn't pump good enough for the effort I was putting into it. I took off the fuel filter, kept the oil filter on, it pumps good enough now. I did that in the summer, I would have...
hey judd, I've perused the EPA website, and am in no way an expert on EPA or DOT rules. However, one thing that struck me was that the EPA says that when WMO is added to a diesel mixture it's no longer considered wmo, but rather diesel. Don't know if that would change any of your state hazmat...
Big challenge that I would wager that you face is how to get the juice up and down out of the back of the truck (if you're using the truck to haul it). In my duece, I'm fortunate enough to have a forklift on site to lift a 250-gallon tote (white plastic tank with a tube cage built around it)...
If someone is offended by your actions, they can preserve their honor and sensibility by offering you a price for your truck that you can't refuse. A few phrases come to mind..."it's a free country" "talk is cheap, put up or shut up"
It's somewhat offensive to many here that the well-worn...
I stow items under my stock driver's seat because it is not a springer, and the seat cushion fits over a boxed-in compartment. there's no open ends for stuff to slide out underneath me. I should be safe from objects in the compartment in the event of a rollover if I am properly buckled. That...
I keep my air hose and some cargo straps under my driver's seat. Also a 14ft logging chain. (the rest of my pulling chains are below, in the toolbox)
What does everybody else keep under their stock driver's seat?
stop in to the local ranger station, ask to get specifics on trail limitations. (If I were you, I would not drive yer bobber for them to eyeball during your question and answer session.) If they look at you like you're stupid, pretend to be upset and that you'd heard rumors that jeeps weren't...
That would mean that we would have learned an important lesson from the F-14's in Iran.
On another note, I can't help thinking about greed and corruption in a revolutionary situation like this. What if you could pick up a bunch of second-hand surplus like tanks and APC's for cheap? Keep them...
