If you already have a deuce to tow with then go for the 105. It might be a tad bigger but its way cheaper and it was designed to be towed behind the deuce.

Ebay and CL is probably the best way to find out what something is worth. Take those prices and cut them by 50% and put it in the classifieds here. Or use a surplus dealers price and cut it by 75% :p

I have never seen it done but I don't see why it couldn't be done. The 3' or so that gets cut off is behind where the stock suspension mounts so I think welding it back on would not be much of an issue. If you plan on pulling with a the pintle I would use some sort of inner frame (double frame)...
