I assume you are talking about for the hood latches?
It seems the springs inside the hooks may fail over time. Mine have never held with much force, and it seems they finally failed. My safety catch is als defunct. I suppose I need to figure out what is up with...

Actually, it was a pretty short trip... maybe 5 miles. I didnt mess with either. I am not sure where I would have hooked a safety chain on the 1009 anyway. And, I ran the convoy lights, as well as the flashers on the lightbar of the 1009, plus the 4 ways on the 1009.
Some of you already know.... I lost the transfer-case in the M1009 this week. It got really bad friday morning, on my way to work. Wouldnt even stay in gear hardly anymore, and it was all I could do to get it to work.

Also.... why do you need a seperate ground? Should be no need, if you ground both systems to the frame.
do NOT.... again, do NOT use ether on a 6.2..... do yourself a favor, finda can of pure silicone spray, and use that instead. Its glow plug friendly.

I know my brothers 82 Civvy blazer had a fuel heater underneath the manifold. It was powered on the same circuit as the gauges. Might want to see if you can find someone with a civvy schematic....
Its a standard WARN winch. They should be able to provide you with the info you need. I know I have pulled the schematic from their site before, for mine.
I have considered something like that with my towbar. I just dont think I could trust my control of the deuce winch for lifting like that. Of course, maybe thats why you used the 4wheeler winch!
