    Involuntary starter run

RE: The way my truck is wired That sounds right. I was pulling some from memory without looking at the TM. All I was trying to say was make sure your switch will cut the 24v, not the 12v...

    Involuntary starter run

RE: The truck is running again! Is the red wire the 12v wire? I thought the purple was 24v, and thats the wire you want to switch. Its that connection that fails, and sticks.

    Involuntary starter run

Bjorn, 99% of the time when a CUCV does this, its this relay. The relays sole purpose is to take the 12v 'signal' from the ignition, and convert it to 24v for the starter. The relay is the 'silver' one under the dash, and plugs into its socket. Alternatively, some people have been known to...

    Involuntary starter run

Sure is, its up under the dash... roughly right about where the radio would be. Couple of relays all mounted to a bracket.

New alternator gen 1 Light still on ????

RE: Re: RE: New alternator gen 1 Light still on ???? Did it ever work? (ie since you got the truck?) Or has the light always been on? Can you take a pic of the wiring on the back of your alternator? Also, the drivers side alternator is the one that has the ground strap on it. Is that connected?

    M1009 Differential

RE: Re: RE: M1009 Differential Mileage isnt all about lower gear numbers (higher ratios). You need to keep in mind that your engine wants to run at an optimal RPM. Take my 1009 for instance. I have stock 3.08 gears still, and the 700R4 transmission. At 65mph, I am running 1524 RPM. When...

    M1009 Differential

RE: Re: RE: M1009 Differential I would say for 31-33" tires, you would be ok with 3.42 but 3.73 might give you similiar mileage, with better performance. If you go bigger than 33" tires, I would go 3.73 or 4.10's. HTH

    M1009 Differential

Re: RE: M1009 Differential Hence the problem with the stock 3.08's If you have lifted, and put bigger tires on it, I would suggest 3.73 or 4.10. It all depends on what you have done to it. Bigger tires effectivly make the gearing even higher yet. Putting more strain on the motor, and IMO...

    M1009 Differential

What have you done to it? I seriously doubt going to higher (ie smaller # than 3.08) is going to help you mileage at all.
