Check this out. pretty much shows it from start to finish. I hope it helps.
The base plate was on the block. The can cup came right off. Twisted off clean. I seen it on a 396 I had in the 70's but never since. I have them pliers and the Snap-On strap socket that gets tighten the tighter you turn. Never had one I can't get off. used it on my engine's also.
I have a brand new 305 gas engine sitting on my engine stand. I bought it in 2003. It was a new GM target master engine for a 1985 K10 pick up I was restoring. I put on all the external brackets and everything was all pretty. I left it hang on the engine stand. I kept it covered never out in the...
This thread was interesting and I relived the entire scenario on a Camaro oil filter. I was not the one that started taking it off. It was brought to me to get off. the whole time they were trying to get it off they were turning it the wrong way. Today the oil filter on the red CUCV broke off...
Sometimes parking them is an open invitation for trouble. I mean that is the batteries are now sitting a sulfating and nothing is being used. the most reliable vehicles are the ones driven everyday. unless you are 100% confident it is a driver. I would start it and run it at least once a week. I...
WOW and to think I thought guys ask me strange questions when I go out in public driving a CUCV. That I would like to see. A bulletproof CUCV. Lets just say it's a little more bulletproof then a tin can would be. That's for sure.
We are very real people. We do not bite or create an uncomfortable regiment of rules and expectations. We go out. We good out to have fun. We abide by the rules set forth by the park. We are all equals. No truck or man gets left behind. Easy for me to say. I am driving an M1009. But matters...
You need to make sure of a few things. Do you have good vacuum? Are the rubber hoses sealing on the module at the injection pump? Is the module adjusted properly? And is the signal reaching the modulator thru the vacuum. get it set up properly and change the filter and fluid. It could be hanging...
I am closing out this thread on my part. The Mule M1009 is gone. But never forgotten. Here are some pictures of it in the past. I hope it never regresses backwards again. I will keep it out of the hands of the PANG. I know the new owner will appreciate the time and effort I spent on keeping it...
They don't have to be members. We are doing this as aa public event. I do not pretend to represent any group. If any group is being slightly represented it would be the RC Outcasts. But we are not represented by anyone or any organization. We do try and follow Rausch Creek rules. But no problem...
I say no to doing more harm then good. Change the fluid and filter. The shift could just be the modulator on the right side of the transmission. And that cost me $40. at a local shop to have diagnosed and changed. I trust this guy. I had one of my M1009's shifting horrible and dropped it off...

Are you bringing firewood? I will bring some Friday night if I know someone is going to be there. Just didn't want to waste a trip. Otherwise I will just be up Saturday AM. I like to drop Terminus M1009 off Friday night so it can get acclimated and maybe get a ride in the back of a 5 ton. Funny...
We drained and replaced the fluid and filter back about 5 years ago.
That my friend is quite the long service interval. I doubt that is helping matters. I would still change it and service the filter. I try and change mine and service the filter every 2 years regardless of mileage. Good Luck...
Terminus is all back together. I even vacuumed it out and washed the interior. Cleaned the windows and checked all the fluids. Everything is a go. I am ready to go and it is only Wednesday. Maybe I can take off the rest of the week. maybe NOT. Take care. This was last night. My Mule M1009 has...
Does this help? 12v 80% duty Inductive load 150 A Resistive load 187A. That is the Honda, Cole Hersee. The other is sealed and has no rating on it or inside the instructions. They all work. I used them all. Not these but ones I bought when I bought these. I see things at sales and buy them. I...
Cole Hersee makes agood relay for the under hood relay. I also have used the GM relays that were used on the 1979- 1980 5.7 diesel glow plugs. I used snow plow relays. it is just a basic relay. The OEM CUCV one is very similar to a snow plow relay. Side by Side they are exact. Not much special...

This might help you. I have done a few head gaskets in the past 5 years. basically they just need changed from age. Good Luck. get the heads checked and machined at a reputable shop or you are just...
The first one I ever drove back in 1983 I was working at the Chevrolet dealer. I pulled out on a state highway and pulled over in a mile. I counted the shifts when I pulled out and it went o 3rd gear. I thought WOW. What hum these things had. I drove back to the shop and took the shop foreman...
