    there are 2 sets of bolt heads on the backing plate. one large and one small adjustment. tighten them till it drags then back off.

    deuces dont' have an ignition swith mainly because it's a diesel and there is no ignition system on a diesel. Do you mean battery or starter push button or flame heater?

    the 5 ton will shove the deuce around. would only consider it if you could find 10k lbs to put in the back of the deuce. it will be about 9k over gvw for the pintle.

    there is a waring right on the dash plate. it says do not use low range and R. read the warning label on the dash. top left hand side. I think it's even in yellow. rpm's make no difference. it say NO USING R WHEN IN L RANGE.

    fwiw I have rebuilt 3 selector valves and none of them had any seals in them at all and the tm doesn't show any. the valve and the valve block are machined brass and I didn't see any seals in any part of it. but I could be very wrong. but when I pulled it apart I cleaned it and reassembled it...

    I just did mine fri and I replaced what came off it. 5/8. it's the same on another 818 and 816 I have to do.

    I replaced mine some time ago. there is a spacer behind the flange that helps set end play. gasket thickness and amount also does this. wasn't too bad. hardest part is R&R of the drive shaft.

    I used the old fittings and there is no need for hose clamps with those fittings. The line from the filter to the IP is 5/8. most of the other lines from the spider is 3/8 if I remember right. just make sure you don't dent or scratch up the fittings when removing the old hoses.

    the stock 3401 fuel filter is a 12 micron rating. so your doing a little better with your new setup. let us know how much water you see coming out of it.
