Had the same problem w/ a M931A1, water in the crank case. Had the pan pulled and found # 3 cyl. sleeve scored/cracked. Traded the truck out to some one with more time and resourses. Good luck JC

Good deal, now track your milage and engine time. Oil analysis in your next step. As long as you get good oil spec feedback readings, just change the filter and add a little oil. It will save you a lot on oil changes. Have fun JC

Good teardown analysis, that much freeplay/vertical slop would cause tha cam to flex, work hardened to metal, ans shear. Nice work.

Is it the stater or just the solinoid attached to the starter? Ive have replaced several soliniods on the stater and it fixes the inop-ness. A good accessory shop can diagnose it.

Should be a direct replacement, I have a used A3 tank being shipped to replace a nasty A2 tank. Pump will mount in the same access hole. I'll keep you posted. JC
