Are the brakes caged? If it came with removed driveshafts chances are they are caged. Look for bolts sticking out of the rear brake cans. The truck will need to be chocked. You need to read the operators manual and familiarize yourself with airbrake operation. It's a big a heavy truck and things...
Crack or bullseye either way the windshield will need to be replaced. They come out easy. On a warm day you can use your foot to gently push a top corner to start it and it will push right out. I don't know about putting the new one in though. Usually the driver alarm cable is permanently...
If air is leaking up around the yellow knobs shaft then that control may need replacing. Air should not escape from it like that. Air could be leaking thru the treadle valve also. Seals dry up and go bad from sitting especially in hot climate. Use windex to identify the leaks exact location.
Under the power panel there are bolts that correspond with the left 12 24 and gnd posts. They are live all the time so be careful. You can use a ring connector and come off with a fusible link. If you want switched power you can tap into a switched circuit and use to control a relay to switch it.
I think they are all 36 1/2 I have measured it in the past. Tractors make
good parts trucks for me. Trans cooler can go under the bed or deck its like that in the 6x6 cargo trucks. I just got a cheap tractor in. Needs some tlc but runs and drives.
Its aluminum and much easier to transport and operate than a steel bar. Everything has its trade-offs. I think its a decent product I have not gone far with one though.
Because the bed is so high you would need long ramps. Unless you have lifting equipment the truck really isn't practical for transporting heavy stuff. The military has the equipment to go along with the truck.
The 3126 and C7 do have more power. And the 3116 could be bumped up a bit by a cat dealer. If I ever needed to replace the engine in my m1078 I would swap in a 290hp from a 6x6 though. The truck I drive has a recent reman engine. Compared to the other m1078s I have had, my truck is noticeably...
I don't need to go faster than 57 in my lmtv. Compared to driving the older mil trucks the lmtv 3116 dosnt feel underpowered at all. I like the low range pulling power which you would loose with a gear change. If I need to go fast I have other vehicles for that.
