I'm pretty sure my deuce has cracked mine... When I bought the house, there were already a few cracks, but now there are many, especially in the area where the front of my deuce sits.
This probably isn't common though. The previous owner 'Did the concrete work himself'. It looks fine, but I...
heh heh... I'd be embarassed to have that thing in my yard! Seriously, I'd have to put it up on jack stands or blocks - those axles have got to go!
That said, I too have a towbar as well as 1.5 acres where it could live, but I have no $$ after my recent V18A/MTQ purchase (which my girlfriend...
Thanks Kenny! That's the EXACT manual I was looking for... I have 9-2320-209-10-1, but it covers the M764 earth borer truck, not the V18A/MTQ, so I needed the earlier 9-2320-209-10.

Hi Group,
I was going to post this in the other Gama Goat thread today, but I didn't want to hijack it since this is changing the subject. This is a copy of an old post (over a year ago) from the 2-Stroke Detroit Diesel group on Yahoo, where Goats frequently come up in discussions both because...
Glad it made it safe! Behind the gladhand there should be a valve to shut off air flow. It sounds like this valve is missing too, and if that's the case, you won't have air pressure or brakes. A quick fix would be to simply cap it off for now, remove the fitting that has the broken off stub...
What would be wrong with them, Jason? (Besides maybe ugly paint and a bent up top plate.) What are the weak points? For $295 you could take it apart, clean it up, replace the bearings and still come out ahead...
The V18A/MTQ I'll be picking up soon is missing the front winch, brackets and...
Barstow or Antelope may have the deflector box that goes under the dash, but that's the only other part that is 'special', the rest of the kit has hardware store equivalents.
I'm in the process of putting in my heater kit this week... I got Saturn's last one a few months ago, got my John Tennis...
I like the backup alarm bell on the pass. side rear axle. Have you backed it up yet? Does it work? Very cool, and if you're going to remove it keep me in mind! I've been looking for one on eBay for a while, haven't seem any yet.
Regards,
Jon
Mike is correct, California requires at least a non-commercial class B license for any powered vehicle with more than 2 axles, regardless of type or weight, although I think there's an exemption for motorhomes with a third non-powered tag axle...
There are truck scales on Cajon Pass, I drive...
Marti, those joints have plastic (Delrin) inserts with a dry lubricant impregnated cloth liner... An unusual design. The other thread on this topic (link in Bjorn's post a few back) had a cut-away view of one of them, and design information from an original publication. I'm sure they could be...
Actually I like that idea Kenny. If I want to be 'slick', I could make up some cardboard covers and use an axle shaft gasket as a template to cut holes for the bolts...

Make sure, if it's an electric gauge, that it is grounded well. A lot of the electric gauges ground through the gauge case to the instrument panel, and from there through the instrument panel to the dash board via the panel mounting screws. Lots of potential for a false reading, though I'm not...
That's good to know! I plan to remove the front and rear output shafts from the transfer case for the trip home... I'll remove the inter axle shaft if I have to put a deuce wheel on there.
I suppose if I get a flat on one of the fronts and have no 11.00-20 spare, I should put one of the 11.00s...
Thanks for the heads up David... I didn't know that! I'll have to make sure it has a spare. If not I'll try to pick up one before hand. With singles on the rear I don't want to be stuck just because of a flat.
I've haven't used my towbar yet, so I hve no experience with how the trucks will...
Yes, the plan is to tow it with my deuce and towbar. It's just under 200 miles each way, about half of it on the 101 (Pacific Coast Highway) and the other half on smaller highways across the Mojave desert. I plan to rebuild all 6 wheel cylinders on my deuce before the trip, and add weight to...
Hopefully he would buy it and come here for help restoring it... A want ad for axles would lend the buyer a lot of credibility, as would an order to NAPCO for 4 gallons of an appropriate paint.
I sent the seller a note:
I don't expect a response...

Thanks Guys! When I got my first deuce, I never thought I'd end up with a 'collection', but it's a great hobby and I'm having a lot of fun with my trucks. My girlfriend Stormy still rolls her eyes, but after I likened it to 'Tonka trucks for big boys', and asked the question - 'Do little boys...
