$1280 isn't too bad, eh? I spoke to the contact at the campus (Cal. Poly. San Luis Obispo) and he said some interesting things... I won't be able to pick it up until mid to late January because they are searching for...
I wasn't familiar with a V17A/MTQ, so I did a Google search to find pictures... Dave Walker here in Hesperia had a complete one, a little rough, minus the truck chassis... it was just the body. He didn't even know what it was, I think he referred to it as either an 'odd variant' or 'custom...
That's a real military paint scheme? I've never seen anything like it, I thought it was done up for Mardi Gras, or maybe a gay pride parade. What is it trying to blend in with, a field of wildflowers? Opium poppies?

Unless someone tries to talk me out of it, I am going to go for it. At the very least, someone else is not going to get it cheap. It's within easy reach of my deuce and towbar...
It will get action in the last minutes of the auction... I have a big reminder on my bedroom door so I don't...
I'd bet most of the guys on here paid $250-$450 for a medium, depending on availability and condition. Mine was $250, in great shape with adapters but it was missing it's pins. I found some of the pins but the others have grade 8 bolts standing in for now.
Shipping is high, keep that in mind...
Bjorn, I just caught your note on the bottom of that PS Magazing article about not forming the J-bend at the top of the vent line due to the risk of clogging...
My truck has already had this MWO installed and my truck has the j-bend in it. Is it worth modifying? What is the risk of clogging...
That one from Northern looks pretty good. I got mine from Harbor Freight, it was cheaper... $19.99 on sale - they're almost always on sale...

I ground off the word 'China', disassembled it and stripped the orange paint...
Yes, but not as low as I could / should... I aired them down to 25 psi, I'm afraid to go lower because my tires are so old and weathered. I think if they flex too much they will fail.
New tires are definitely in the 2007 truck budget!

It's clear to me that lockers increase performance in mud to a large degree, but on sand (which I have in abundance out here in the desert), the air shift front end of a deuce is almost a necessity... When I had a sprag transfer case installed, when the front would start to bog down, the rear...
The company that used to make it here in the USA is busy shipping it's flexible duct making machinery to China, so they can make it for 20% of the previous cost and charge you 20% more for it. Please be patient with them.

Ahh, thanks Gary. I thought maybe I had discovered the "Spinner II" here on SS, but I bookmarked it and forgot where it came from. I do remember that thread. I don't have room for a washing machine sized unit, and I'm not sure enough g-forces would be developed to separate soot anyway. I...
That was probably me that had the seized IP due to Teflon particles from Slick 50, but it was not in an MV, it was my 1966 Mercedes... The multifuel's IP may be a lot more tolerant, but ever since I learned that expensive lesson I have been obsessed with clean fuel and oil.
I am also interested...
What bed is on that 5-ton? Is that a deuce bed? I like it...
As for the Google search results, I have a funny story about that... I was looking for the correct color of yellow paint to paint bridge plates a while ago, and I posted my question here on SS late at night. The next morning I had...
It certainly wouldn't hurt to call DuPont if grease is to be considered, but I've worked with Delrin quite a bit and can attest to it's chemical neutrality... I can't imagine any normal grease having a reaction with Delrin.
But like the Wikipedia article said, it's self lubricating. Very...
Nice work!
Did you ever find the little piece that was missing from the side of your air compressor? I looked in all the TMs I have but none showed the single cylinder compressor...

If anyone is seriously considering buying this truck, please PM me. I may be able to assist in removal and temporary storage, I have a towbar and a big yard, and this truck is 5 hours from me. If nobody is thinking of buying it, I will probably bid to try to "rescue" it...
Jon
It really is in nice shape. Someone here could probably get it for a song, as it's a somewhat more obscure site than GL.
Hopefully it goes to someone who wants to restore it...
Jon
Cool! I've been thinking of ways to justify getting more MVs...
I always wanted to drill an illegal well. Also, I would finally get to tap into the oil under all the worthless sand in my yard. I guess while I'm at it I could put up some phone poles, too.
I'm gonna be stinkin' rich...
