Thanks for the info. this is sitting in a field so a forktruck is out of the question unless I rent one, and then I might as well get a crane to do it. My work has a "boom truck" sort of like a small crane truck that I might be able to use. I will call the oil company today and see if they...
Anyone know offhand of the weight of a dropside bed, with no troop seats?
Whats the best way to lift one if its on the ground?
I found one sitting in a field down the road from me( I drive by it everyday and just now noticed it!). I was gonna call the oil company that owns the equipment and...
I have been toying with the idea of buying another M200A1 trailer and putting them together as one. Basically butting the front of one to the rear of the other, chopping the "angled" front off where the lunette goes. This would give me alot of room and no over hang which is my biggest worry...
No, didn't get it done in time. I had some 4" channel welded on the top of the frame but it just doesn't feel like its gonna hold my truck very secure, especially the rear overhang of 5 feet.
I haven't been on here lately since my trip out to the desert so sorry for the delay in posting...
M109
If the box of a M109 mounts the same as a deuce, then you have a lot of space under the floor for tanks and storage. On a deuce there is at least 3 feet across and probably 4 feet down that runs the whole length of the bed. If the 109 is the same then you could put your fresh water and...
Nice to see somebody from New Mexico on here!!
A) try to go and inspect what you want
plan on how to get it home - drive, tow, or what ever, before you bid.
Set a limit on how much you want to spend. there are deals if you can find something no body else wants!
Yea Otter had one and he had a couple of pics of it. I would do that except I live in the sticks out here and there aren't any deuce beds around. I gotta have this done by the 9th of Nov so I can go rock crawlin over in California.
Well I got my M200A1 trailer home finally( a big thanks to Hookin1 for storing it)
Objective: to make a bed long enough for my 88 Jeep Comanche. Front tire to back tire is 13' so I am planning on a 14' bed by 7'6" wide.
My first idea is to take either 6" or 8" C channel, 14' long and lay it...
Builder77,
these trailers are designed to be pulled behind a M35A2. I have one coming home sometime soon hopefully and am planning on building a deck over bed for my rockcrawler. PM Hookin1, he has my trailer right now and can give you the dimensions you need.
RE: Re: RE: Instant horsepower
Funny thing about passing people when driving a deuce - I drove mine over 800 miles from California to New Mexico and passed a grand total of one (1) other vehicle that wasn't broke down.
Kevin,
No problem, it was pretty short notice anyway. I have a guy lined up to bring it out here, just waiting for him to get his truck fixed.
I am gonna build a "deck over" type bed and haul my rock crawling rig (88 Jeep Comanche) to and from the trails. If all goes according to plans( yea...
fit?
thats bumper to bumper though.
measure from the front of the front tire to the end of the bumper and from the back of the back tire to the end of the back bumper. which ever is more, let that end hang out over the tailgate - probably like 2.5 or 3 feet. that might get you close to the...
